I feel like shit.

My first thought in the morning because I do feel like shit.

I didn't and couldn't sleep a wink last night.

Each time I tried to, I see...

I see him.

No nope, it's a new day. I'm not about to think about that monster.

Maybe I can get some sleep now since I'm off duty until 7 at night.

I just need a little, just a little.

Fucking awesome, please I just need a few minutes. Please.

I hate it here.

It sinks to my brain that I'm not going to get any sleep.

I sit up and walk to the bathroom not bothering to do my morning chant.

Yes I feel so bad that I don't bother to say something I've been saying since I was 10.

As I stare at myself in the mirror in the bathroom, I want to scream, I want to pull my hair, I want to forget it all.

I want to be 9 again.

"Holy shit, you look like shit!!!" Jeremy exclaims as I enter the kitchen.

He stands close to Daisy, a little too close I'm suspicious.

If I don't feel like hitting my head repeatedly on a metal until I bleed, I would have questioned it.

"Hey, babes. Are you OK?" Daisy asks her expression worried.

"Yeah, I didn't get much sleep last night"

I didn't get any sleep last night.

"I just need to clear my head. I'll be fine"

"Ok"

"Couldn't you have taken sleeping pills or something?"

I take a large gulp of water from the bottle I picked earlier before replying,

"I didn't have any"

"But aren't you like a doctor?"

How dumb can he be?

"Just because I'm a doctor doesn't mean I keep pills in my purse you uncultured cunt", I snap at him.

Both Daisy and Jeremy flinch.

"Girl, chill. Are you sure you're OK? "

No.

"Yes. I need a run"

I turn to go but I feel a hand grab my wrist. I turn, it's Daisy.

"Hey, I'm here for you. You know that, yeah? You can tell me anything"

"Daisy if this is about me being a virgin"

"No, no it's not. That's your business. Just generally. I'm here to listen if you want to talk"

I'm here to listen if you want to talk.

You wouldn't understand.

I'm messed up.

I manage a smile, "I know"

Do I?

She smiles a bit at me.

"I'll be back in a few hours"

With that, I walk to the front door.

"She's hiding something"
