"Hey Laike!" A random blonde guy said to me for the third time today, it was nice change that he was being kind and everything, but I had never met him before and he was acting like we had known each other for years. I turned to him and crossed my arms, "Okay, I've had it! Who are you, and why are you following me?!" He looked startled at my bluntness, "I-I'm Everest, a friend of Spirit's" I slowly nodded. If you're wondering why I'm still not in the hospital, it's a week later and they discharged me.
"Right, and are you on Apollo Knight's good side or bad?" This would tell me a lot about this Everest guy. "It depends on who woke him up that morning, if it was Darcey, he would be in a bad mood, and I would be on his bad side, but if somebody like Axton woke him up, I would tend to be on his good side. " I assumed Axton was the boy from the party and Darcey was either one of Apollo's hookups or several girlfriends. A small hand landed on my shoulder gently, startling me. I looked back to see Spirit staring down at me."Darcey is definitely not a hookup or girlfriend, whe is basically like his annoying sister"
How on earth did she know that?! "How-?" I questioned before her face went pale, "Nothing, I just - sort of - could guess- what you were going to say?" She said it more like a question than an answer. We continued our conversation on our way to lunch, they invited me to sit at our table, which at first I refused before Spirit somehow convinced me to meet new people. The first person I noticed sitting at the table was Apollo. Wonderful. Spirit pulled me down to sit next to her, I was between a dark haired girl with brown eyes, and obviously Spirit.
"Hey, I'm Darcey, nice to meet you Laike, heard a lot about you" From who? Their interpretations of me could be very different based on who they heard the information from, "Apollo, Everest and Spirit told me about you, now, show us what you can do!" Darcey said, by her voice I could tell she was majorly excited for what I was supposed to 'show' them. "What do you mean? I don't have a magic wand I could whip out and perform a few minor tricks with!" That came out harsher than intended.
"Well no but-" Before she could finish, Apollo put his hand over her mouth. After about three seconds he hastily pulled it away and looked at Darcey with no emotion but disgust.
"You licked me" Darcey smirked up at him, "Damn right I did!" She was obviously not pleased with him, I now see what they meant when they said they were like siblings. "So are any of you siblings?" They all snapped their heads to look at me and burst out laughing. "No, I would kill myself if he was my brother" Remarked Darcey. And when Apollo glared at her, she glared right back. A second later, Apollo's eyes glazed over, a black inky colour seemed to be devouring his hazel orbs.
It made me jump out of my skin, "What the hell's happening to him!!" I yelled, catching the attention of the entire cafeteria. Spirit sighed and stood up, like a queen addressing her people,
"Nothing to see here folks, nothing to see"
