《A P O L L O》
The next morning was tiresome. Darcey came banging on my door at six am, demanding me to get up and dressed. Laike looked like death, her eyes had large dark circles underneath them, her hair didn't seem to be as vibrant and bright as it did yesterday. The spark in her eyes was gone too, she was a sad sight to look upon for certain. To total it up, she didn't look good at all. Everest offered to drive, which is good because then I don't have to spend my time staring blankly forward. Axton got his old Campervan from his parents house so that we could actually get to the airport.
I heard a soft knock on my door, I got up and opened it, the first thing I saw was a fan of red hair, and then beautiful blue eyes. "I- I was wondering if I...could borrow, a jacket?" She muttered, almost too quiet for me for hear. I was about to ask her why she couldn't borrow one from Spirit or Rory but stopped myself. "Um, sure" I grabbed my blue jacket from my closet and handed it to Laike.
"T-thanks" Then she left.
"Who's ready for the road trip!" Rory yelled through the car. Making Laike and Spirit desperately try to cover their ears. "It's not even a road trip Rory! It's merely the journey to the airport!" She only rolled her eyes at my comment. Laike was looking out through the window, huddled up in my jacket, it was the quietest I'd ever seen her. Rory was in the passenger seat of the car, Spirit was sitting next to Axton who were both behind us. Spirit insisted that Laike and I were to sit next to eachother.
Everest had turned on the radio and when Rory's favourite song came on, Darcey (Who, had I mentioned, is squished into the seat next to me for this entire journey) started jamming along, relentlessly. I gently nudged Laike, wanting to talk to her about her aunt. She looked at me, her eyes large and watery. I couldn't help but engulf her into my arms, tears slid down her porcelain like cheeks, the fairness now stained with her sadness. I stroked her hair as she layed her head on my chest, the feeling of her heartbeat against my body was a feeling I would never forget.
"Hey lovebirds! Time to get up, we're here!" Rory yelled in my ear as we arrived at the airport. I looked down to see a sleepy looking Laike cuddled into my chest, her head still resting against me. "We have to go now Laike" I said in a gentle voice, not wanting to startle her. The beautiful familiar blue eyes looked up at me, she just nodded and hopped off of me and out of the car. I grabbed my bag and hauled Laike's over my shoulder as well.
