After my call with Ana Ayo appeared in Lagos, he was traveling to New York for a job he just got and his flight is tommorow morning so he was crashing at Andrew's place for the night. He didn't look as heartbroken as before when Jo broke up with him so he most definitely has healed a great deal.
It was difficult to pretend like all was well when it wasn't and even more difficult to act like I wasn't planning to run away with the love of my life in less than twenty four hours. Andrew and I had kept it between us, he hadn't even told his sister or brother yet, not even James too.
As I finished from work I went straight to Andrew's place. He was home already, sitting and chatting with Ayo and a bottle of wine settled between both of them.
"Hey guys," I said as I stepped into his house.
"Hey babe."
"Victoria!"
They both spoke at the same time and a grin broke out on my face. "What's up?" I hugged Ayo first before planting a kiss on Andrew's lips that was in a pout. "What now?"
"You hugged him first," he whined and I rolled my eyes.
"Just stop it," I hit his arm and headed for the kitchen. "Please tell me you have food."
"No!" Drew called back. "I'll order in."
"Alright," I went straight upstairs to take a shower and freshen up.
Ten minutes after I was freshly showered and changed into shorts and a t-shirt. I basically threw myself between both guys on the couch and snatched the bottle of wine from the table, taking large gulps from it.
When I paused, the bottle left my hand immediately. "Chill babe."
I rolled my eyes and struggled to reach for the bottle in Andrew's hand but the more I stretched the farther the bottle was from my reach.
The doorbell sounded and Ayo quickly stood up, "I'll get it."
Drew's lips met mine and I almost melted into his arms but pulled away when I realized what he was doing. At that second of confusion in his eyes, he loosened his guard and I stretched and gripped the bottle, successfully holding it in my hand.
I left Andrew on the couch and ran to the kitchen, his footsteps echoed behind me. I laughed as I changed my direction and headed straight upstairs.
"Come here," I heard him say so close to me and I giggled.
I couldn't slam his room door in his face because his hand stopped the door and he charged into the room. He was smiling but the evil glint in his eyes couldn't be missed and I backed away from him with an uncontrollable laughter escaping my lips.
I tilted the bottle over my lips and let the contents leak into my mouth as I kept eye contact with him. He shook his head at me before stretching his legs and in two strides he was in front of me, snatching the bottle from my grip. "Alright that's enough," he said as he took a large gulp from the bottle then set the bottle on the table behind me, it was almost empty now.
I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand and licked my lips.
"How was your day?" He asked as he cupped my face in his hands and planted a firm kiss on my lips.
"Not so bad," I shrugged.
"You've got everything you need?" He wrapped his arms around me in a hug and I rested my head on his chest, hearing the rapid beating of his heart.
