"Ouch," I groaned as I felt a sharp pain in my head and I knew what it was, this incessant headache that refused to go. It comes and goes and I always take a paracetamol which always helps.
"What is it?" Funke asked, looking away from the dress she was holding.
"Headache," I winced and walked to the kitchen to get a tablet.
"When I keep telling you to stop working too much, you won't hear!" Funke yelled from the parlor and I waited till I was back to the kitchen before I replied her.
"Olufunke Ayodeji, fimi sile," (leave me alone) I took my previous position, dragging the laptop back to my lap.
"Mí di e mu," (I'm not holding you,) she laughed. "What do you think of this dress?"
She held up a burgundy body con dress, it had something that looks like a belt in the front.
"I like it, where did you get it?" She twirled around, still hugging the dress to her body.
"Adrian bought it for me, said he saw it and he liked it and he bought it for me," she grinned and I groaned.
"If he didn't buy it for you I would have taken it from you," I turned my attention back to my laptop as Funke went on with what she was doing.
It was a week to the wedding and my determination to get out of here was increasing by the second. When I told my friends what my Nana told me, that only got them angrier.
I felt the urge to go to ease myself again and I groaned. I went not up to an hour ago. I stood up with a huff and stormed to the guest bathroom downstairs.
As I came out Funke was looking at me with a raised brow. "I thought you went there not up to an hour ago."
"My thoughts exactly," I rolled my eyes. "It's that large cup of tea I drank this morning."
Funke's eyes followed me as I took my seat again. "What other sickness like things have been happening to you lately?"
"Nothing, I feel fine," I shrugged.
"Any cramps or slight nausea?"
Her questions were starting to make me feel weird. "No," I shook my head.
"Are you sure?" She looked really serious as she spoke.
"What are you now, my nurse?" I laughed.
"I'm serious here Victoria, think hard." She folded her arms, shifting her weight to her left leg.
"Well I think I once felt this slight nausea the other day but it stopped almost instantly. Why are you asking?" I gave her my full attention now.
"Nothing, just had to be sure that you're not feeling sick," she smiled before going upstairs.
The front door opened and in walked Adrian and Andrew, both of them talking about what sounded like football.
"Hey babe," Andrew bent down to kiss my cheeks before sitting beside me.
"Hey," I spoke to Adrian now, "she just went upstairs." I told him and he nodded before disappearing.
Andrew closed my laptop and set it aside. I settled myself on his lap, both my legs on both sides of him.
I held his face in my hands as I smiled. I leaned in and pecked his lips, "where have you been? I missed you."
Andrew and I haven't seen each other in two days, just calls and texts. "I missed you too," he pecked my lips this time, his lips lingering for more than a second.
