Marinette wished she could tell the other she didn't actually have explosive diarrhea.

But how else could she have escaped Lila's mother instinct? If she wanted to transform into Ladybug, she would have to come up with many excuses. No matter how bizarre. Oh well, that came with the job of being a superhero after all.

"Don't 'hey Lila' me," said the exasperated girl, "one, we weren't able to spend lunch break together. Two, there are only a few minutes till our class with Miss Mendeleiev. And three, where is Sabrin—"

Her rave was cut short by an orange-haired girl, a book hanging from her fingertips. "Marinette! Are you okay? How's your stomach?"

"Rin? O-oh yes, I feel way better." The blunette flashed a weak smile. "Erm— it doesn't matter anyway. Perhaps we should get to class?"

"Fine. But this is the first time I'm letting you slide," said Lila with a sigh.

They entered the classroom bustling with chatter, the particularly warm air floating around the room. There were eminent giggles and squeals of disbelief; none of the three quite knew why. What was so interesting?

"Hey, what's all this about?" the green-eyed girl asked, averting her gaze to two lovers.

"Guys! Didn't you hear? Three new students are arriving later! Not one, three. I'm excited to meet them," exclaimed the pale-skinned girl as she shook the other's shoulder and hid the dyed, mulberry-like tips of her hair behind her ear.

Rose only nodded with a smile. She seemed as though she was sulking, yet she still managed to put on a kind, inviting expression. The girl crossed her arms — looking like a child who had received old socks for Christmas.

"Aww, look who wants Juleka all to herself," said Marinette jokingly, hiding her chuckle.

"I am not jealous," said the blonde sternly, voice softer than a whisper. Although her tone was vastly different from her gentle features.

"Top ten disadvantages of having a girlfriend that's too friendly," Sabrina murmured in a reporter's voice, leaning on Lila's ear. Three of the girls gave in to loud guffaws, and had no aim to hide it.

"I heard that," said Juleka, her mouth tilting downwards. The room was filled with gales of laughter, which was soon put to a stop, by the footsteps of their Science teacher who had dark, purple hair, eyes resembling a fierce cornflower — Ms. Mendeleiev.

The firm and intimidating demeanor Mendeleiev had was convenient in getting the students to listen and keep their mouths shut, which was exactly her intention.

All paid attention to the raspy voice which began echoing across the classroom. "I'm pleased to see everyone present and everyone early. I suppose all that scolding was effective.

"Hello to everyone and welcome to Chemistry class," said their teacher, "as you all know, there'll be three new students permanently joining this school, and all your classes. I expect you to treat them well and welcome them warmly. Is that crystal?" Ms. Mendeleiev questioned.

"Clear," the class responded.

A stout man with owl-like eyes entered the room. He had large eyebrows, grey sideburns, a light gray mustache, as well as a bald spot on the top of his head — Mr. Damocles.

"Good morning class," said the principal. His behavior was the complete opposite of Mendeleiev's, which made the students feel a bit more at ease. "I believe Ms. Mendeleiev already told you about the new students, who will be joining our class today. Do come in."
