a/n: just like I mentioned at the end of last chapter; I'm aware that I included Sirius' death in the last book. but I've already rewritten the outline twice and I don't want to hav to do it a third time. so, for all of you Sirius lovers, he's alive.
"Neville?" I peeked behind a bookshelf and saw Neville sitting at a table with a few books. Textbooks it looks like. He looked up at me, then frowned and looked back down. "Nev... I wanna talk..."
"Why? Am I doing something else to bother you?"
Ouch...
"No," I sat at the chair next to him. "I wanted to apologize, and agree with you. That I've been a complete and total arse to you. I've said and done things we both agreed to never do or even consider. I broke... major rules we made when we were kids. Nev, I'm so sorry."
"I was slowly getting over the fact that you wanted nothing to do with me in the beginning. But then... then you almost killed yourself and that... blindsided me. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you'd done it. I'd blame myself for not helping you."
"I know. What I did wasn't okay. Threatening you wasn't okay either. None of it was. I just miss my brother. I miss us so much. I was just so scared of hurting you further that I didn't want to be anywhere near you to keep you safe. But Nev, now we have a plan. We're already doing it too. There's so much hope. Malfoy laughed today because of it. And I want you to be a part of it. We need you. I need you, Neville. Please."
He slowly closed his book, then looked up as a smile grew on his face. "Okay. But... promise me something."
"Anything," I took his hands into mine. "Lay it on me."
"You won't ever shut me out ever again. No matter what happens or what you've gotten yourself into," He nodded. "Okay? I wanna help you. But I can't help if you don't let me."
"Okay, yeah, I promise," I smiled back, then bit my lip. "Nev... do- do you wanna see it?"
"The mark?" Neville's eyes widened. "Um... yeah. Yeah, just so it doesn't scare me."
"Okay," I took his hand with my left one and slowly lifted my sleeve. Neville gulped when he saw the dark skull mark on my forearm. It drastically contrasted my light skin tone. "You okay...?"
He nodded nervously, then took a deep breath. "Yeah. Yeah it's just... it's hard seeing it on you... I never thought I would."
"Me neither, but hey," I lifted his chin. "I'm still me. Think of this as a pen drawing. One of my drawings, okay? If you have to. This mark doesn't change me personally. I'm still Hazel. Okay?"
"Yeah," He nodded and pulled my sleeve back down. "Okay. So- so you said something about a plan? What have you guys done so far?"
"Oh, yeah! Okay, here, let me explain it to you."
-3rd pov-
"Hey, mate," Draco slipped into potions class quickly and unnoticed. His dark skinned friend laughed at his antics, and brightened seeing the overall happier look on his best friend's face.
"Lucky Snape's bothering that Ravenclaw girl, or else you'd be in detention," Blaise joked.
"Hush," Draco laughed too. "Listen, I have the cabinet in my pocket."
