Chapter 6

While hiking up the hill Koichiro started talking to Mari, "When we were dating, we always went hiking or camping, didn't we?"

Mari laughed a little, "We were a lot younger then."

Ayumu was breathing a little hard and turned around to check on you and Haruo, you noticed her looking and you waved a bit. Ayumu smiled a little at you and turned back around to focus on walking up the steep hill.

"I've found water!" Koichiro yelled at everyone behind him in excitement.

Nani turned and smiled at Ayumu, you sighed of relief. 'Thank god he found water! I thought I was going to die if we walked any further!'

You ran over the small pool of water made from the waterfall, you took at your empty water bottle and poured at the old water the old lady and man drank from and filled it with clean, cold, refreshing water.

Koichiro also filled his water bottle up and started to examine it, he took a sip and smiled, "It's drinkable!"

Go smiled widely and started filling his hands up with the water, he started chugging the water down his throat.

"Slow down Go, the water will go nowhere." You laughed.

Go laughed as well and slowed down, Ayumu came by him and also started drinking the water, "It's so nice and cool!" Ayumu shouted out with glee.

We all sat down for a couple of minutes to get some rest, but then Go started complaining, "Let's go back."

You got a bit irritated at Go, you didn't want to start walking yet, you weren't ready. You laid down next to Go with an arm over your face, closing your eyes to relax a little bit longer before you leave.

"What will we do now?" Ayumu asked her parents.

Mari was looking at Koichiro, "How is it?"

Koichiro was looking over a small cliff, "We can make it."

Nanami looked at Mari in concern knowing her condition, "Mari."

Mar kept smiling and looked at everyone, "We're riding down this river!"

Go looked at his mom with a scared expression and yelled out in English, "No way!"

Koichiro clipped his harness onto the rope, "I'll take a look."

You got up and look over the cliff, you gulped and your heart started to beat tremendously.

"I can't see you!" Mari yelled down to her dad, but he didn't respond. Instead, you all heard a small splash.

"It's fine! Go! Jump off!" Koichiro yelled up to Go.

"What?" Go yelled out in disbelief.

"It's a waterfall basin!" Koichiro yelled out once more.

Mari looked at Go with a smile on her face, "Go, you can do it!"

Go looked back at his mom, "I can't swim!"

"You won't die when you fall!" Koichiro yelled back.

You smirk evilly and picked up Go's fanny pack that had his games and threw it over the cliff, Go looked at you astonished.

"Go for it, Go!" You smiled at him.

"A boy needs to have courage!" Mari said and pushed Go over the cliff.

You laughed hearing Go yell out 'mom', "Now it's my turn!" You yelled out in excitement and jumped over the cliff, yelling out with glee.

Everyone was sliding down a waterfall after Ayumu and Go went; you were right behind them and you shouted out, "Woo hoo!"

Everyone started laughing and Koichiro smiled, "This is nice!"

After everyone had their fun it was time to get going, you were all walking in mud and you saw that Ayumu looked a bit down. 

You ran up to her and put a hand on her shoulder, "Ayumu what's wro-"

Before you could finish your sentence Koichiro yelled out, "I found a residential area!"

You all walked down to the area Koichiro was talking about and it looked like everyone was gone.

Koichiro put both of his hands over his mouth and yelled out, "Hello! Is anyone there?"

There was no reply, "Everyone must have evacuated."

You then heard a cellphone start ringing, everyone started looking around.

"It's a cellphone!" Ayumu yelled out.

Koichiro noticed the cellphone where a bunch of crows was and he noticed an arm sticking out from underneath all the rubble, he stopped walking and Ayumu stopped right behind him.

"Dad."

Koichiro put his arm up, "Stay back!"

Koichiro never got the phone, Ayumu was grabbing onto his arm while Go was clutching onto his green shirt. Koichiro looked a bit down.

You sighed a bit, 'I know it's sad seeing all these dead bodies but we'll be seeing more of them as we progress on this journey.'

Koichiro looked to the right and seen a boar, the boar noticed everyone and scraped it hoove against the ground, then charged at everyone.  

Everyone started running away, "Run!" Koichiro yelled out.

 You actually stayed put and seen Ayumu running while the boar was chasing after her, but she fell and you already knew why.

"Ayumu!" You started running after her, and Koichiro noticed what was going on as well.

He yelled out her name and took out his pocket knife, Koichiro jumped off the roof and pushed Ayumu out of the way onto the boar's back.

"Dad!" Ayumu yelled out in fear.

You were holding in your laugh because Koihiro really was trying to hold onto that boar for dear life. 'I swear, sometimes this family is funnier than mine.'
