Chapter 10

"So you're saying I should be happy that one of my classmates is on the brink of death and isn't waking up?"

"That's not what your fathers trying to say Ayumu!" Mari yelled.

Ayumu yelled back, "Yes he is!"

Ayumu started taking off her left shoe and threw them across the way, yelling in anger, "AHH!!"

Go looked at her sadly, "Those were a present from you dad."

Koichiro put his hand on Go's head and smiled sadly at him, "Ayumu is just having a rough time right now, I'm sure she doesn't mean what she's saying."

Mari walked over to Ayumu with a stern look on her face, while Ayumu was attempting to take off her other shoe while screaming out in anger.

Mari grabbed Ayumu's wrist, stopping her from throwing her last shoe.

"Stop that!"

Ayumu tried to get out of her mother's tight grip, "Let go of me!"

The shoe fell out of her hand and Mari looked as if she was over trying to calm down her daughter, "I don't care if you wear those or not. But you'll walk, even if you're barefoot!"

Ayumu yanked her wrist out of her mom's grip and started yelling directly in her face, "Do you think saving people makes you great!?"

Mari had a look of hurt across her face but it soon turned back into a stern one, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"If you can save other people's kids, then save your own too! Save (Y/N)!" Ayumu yelled.

Mari started to raise her voice, "I'm trying to!"

Go moved closer to Koichiro, "Dad, stop them."

Ayumu and Mari kept arguing while Koichiro was walking up to them.

"You're failing at it!"

Mari rubbed her face in frustration, "What would you have me do?"

Koichiro put his hand onto Mari's shoulder, "Now, now, let's not argue with each other. We shouldn't be worried about that, right now we need to focus on getting (Y/N) some medical supplies so we can tend to her wound."

Ayumu sighed annoyingly, "We're just walking around, how is walking around not knowing where we're going is going to help her!?"

"Do what you're told and quit making things worse!" Mari argued back, Koichiro sighed.

Haruo took out his phone and turned up the volume to block out the ruckus they were making.

Tears started forming in Ayumu's eyes as she clenched her teeth together, "You blame me for what happened to dad and (Y/N), don't you?"

Mari looked absolutely confused, "What?"

"You do!"

Go started crying, "Stop them, Dad!"

Koichiro didn't bother to stop them anymore, 'They'll just keep arguing if I stop them, might as well let them blow off some steam.'

Both Mari and Ayumu stopped arguing and Ayumu looked down in anger, "This fucking sucks! I should have gone east!"

Mari shoved Ayumu a little, "Fine! Then go!"

"Keep your hands off me! You stink!"

The argument continues, "You stink too!"

Ayumu started raising her voice even more, "Look at your disgusting face!"

Mari raised her voice even more as well, "You're the one with the disgusting face!"

Ayumu stop and laid down on the ground, "My head, itches like crazy too! God, I can't stand this!"

Mari started scratching her hair and turned in the other direction with an annoyed expression, she then let out a loud huff. 

While they were cooling off Nanami went to go get Ayumu's shoe that she threw in anger, Nanami picked it up and stared at it for a while, and let out a small sigh. She then heard a familiar noise and looked up, she saw a truck heading their way.

Mari, Go, Ayumu, Haruo, Koichiro, and (Y/N) were resting in the back of the truck the person picked them up in. Go snuggled in between his mom and dad with a content smile on his face, while (Y/N) was leaned up against Ayumu to keep pressure off of her injured back.

Ayumu felt someone tap the side of her stomach and she jolted awake immediately, she turned to her right and seen (Y/N) looking at her with an annoyed expression.

"Ayumu, you're an ass."

Ayumu looked taken aback, "What do you mean (Y/N)?"

(Y/N) sighed, "I heard the whole argument you know. Be easy on your mom, she's trying her best to keep us all alive, and you and your stuck-up attitude will put us all in jeopardy one of these days. They weren't blaming you for anything that happened to me or your father, yeah I may or may not be near death's door who knows. But what I do know is-"

(Y/N) weakly hit Ayumu across the face, "You need to cherish these moments you have with everyone around you, even if you've only known them for a day or two, you ungra- mmmm."

"She fell asleep..." Ayumu said to no one but herself and pondered on what (Y/N) said to her.

'I know what she was saying was somewhat true but still... She would never understand how I feel.'
