For better or for worse

Chapter five: Smoke

Taylor blinked repeatedly as she began to regain consciousness,her chest and abdomen hurt. She sat up slowly and tried to make out where she was. Her head was bleeding but all she could think about was Megan. She stood up slowly and made her way to the Range Rover dangerously close to the flames from the explosion.
Taylor coughed through the smoke as she approached the Range Rover and noticed some of the plaster that was hanging above the car had crushed the front of the car.
"Megan?!" She called in between coughs.
Taylor pushed the plaster off the front of the car,then,exhausted,went round the back to see Megan.
"Come on Megan." She said lifting her out slowly.
She laid the young teen on the floor,away from the car,and checked for a pulse.Nothing.
"Come on." She whispered starting CPR.

Firefighters began to flood to the scene.Hoses ready to pout water all over the place.Severide and Casey had another mission.To find Taylor.
"You see her?" Severide asked through the smoke.
"No." Casey said,worried.
"Is that her?" Severide pointed to a figure performing CPR on someone laying down.
Casey couldn't make out which was her but still ran over with Severide closely behind.
"Taylor?!" Casey shouted running to her.
Taylor stopped CPR and hugged her boyfriend.
"Your hurt..." Casey trailed off noticing the blood on her forehead.
Severide looked at the lifeless body in front of the trio.
Taylor swallowed,"She told me to get her sister out."
"She sacrificed herself for her sister." She finished breaking into tears.
Casey held her tightly,as other firefighters continued to pour water onto the fire.
