Finally, the plane touches down. We have landed! I thought the feeling of dancing butterflies would go, but instead, they have started up again but worse. Walking down the plane stairs out into the fresh air and the scorching sun hits my face. I immediately use my hands to block the burning sun from my eyes. I can feel the sweat trickle down my back. I have only been outside for thirty seconds. My fault for wearing a jumper. Everyone is off the plane and making their way over to the entrance of the airport. This airport is a lot smaller than Heathrow so surely will not be hard to find the way around. I easily manage to find my way around to grab my bags that are going around the conveyor belt. One of the bags is extremely heavy, and I'm struggling to get it off the conveyor belt. thins couldn't be more embarrassing even if I tried. I can feel my face go red and feel every muscle in my arm pull as I to try to get it off, but I can't. A lady comes over. she didn't look much older than me so maybe in her twenties, she was wearing a blue denim jumpsuit with all white vans on. She walks past and helps need help clearly. "Thank you," I say to her with a giggle of embarrassment.
"You're more than welcome Darling" she assures me with a smile followed by asking "you're not from Boston are you?" in a sweet and innocent voice. Similar to my mothers, making me feel at home with comfort.
"Is it that obvious?" I chuckle at her as I readjust my jumper.
"Well firstly, you're wearing a jumper in June its a heatwave out here and the temperature is only getting hotter and also you have an English accent. Anyway, I'm Julie. What are you doing here in Boston ?"
"I got granted a scholarship to do cheer at Harvard and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity really, just need to find the exit and find a cab. Do you know where the exit is?" I question while looking around frantically. I start to pull my jumper over my head as I feel like a twat for not thinking and wearing a jumper in June.
"If you go down the end turn left and the taxis are just there outside. You won't struggle to find one, there is always plenty outside. They all need the money" she laughs at me, I start to giggle. People are so much nicer here in Boston than London. I feel like I will be fine and have nothing to worry about.
"Thank you so much for your help" I start to grab all my bags together and checking I have everything. She gives me a friendly smile before walking away, and I make my way to the taxis.
