Another sunny day on campus. It is only eight o'clock in the morning, and it is already stocky hot, I try not to wipe the sweat from my forehead as it will smudge my makeup. I make my way over to my first cheer lesson. As I navigated my way from our room to my lesson, worry started to feel my body causing me to feel extremely queasy however I would let that ruin my first day.
After the long process of trying to find my way, I manage to find the hall I need to be at. Good job I did leave early. I walk into the hall and to my surprise it is empty. Except I see one girl sitting on the bench at the side of the hall tying her shoes up.
I place my bag at the other end of the bench. I pull my jumper over my head and placing it in my bag I brought with me and grabbing my water out and take a refreshing sip. As I'm tying the laces on my shoes I look over at the other girl in my class. She looks friendly. "Glad I'm not the only early bird in this class" I chuckle, and she laughs back at me.
"I'm Lillian, and you are?" I question her, walking towards her with a friendly smile.
"I'm Ava." she looks uncomfortable, so I stop walking in the hope she gets up. I take another sip of water and in that time she arises and walks over with half a smile on her face.
"Don't worry I'm in nervous too, I am a little far from home if I'm honest" in the hope she gets the little joke of me being far from home. Luckily she giggles and understanding, I treasure her with a smile. I have never been this forward when talking to new people before. What has this place done to me?
The Hall fills up with all the students and our teacher introduces herself. I hear jess shout out "Lillian! You made it" I quickly turn around to see her standing with a group of girls.
"Yeah, I left early as I didn't want to get lost in this maze of a college, and I've decided to do cheer additions after this lesson." She closes the gap between us and wraps her arms around my waist and picking me up!
"Yes! Yes! Yes! I knew you would." she shouted, and I laughed nervously. I didn't want Jess to draw attention to me. I look around hoping people wouldn't stare at me, and I was wrong. Everyone was starting for what seemed to be for and internity. The two hour lesson went quickly and smoothly meaning it was time for additions. I did a cheer dance I did back in the a competition in London were I got noticed.
After practice, I did the cheer addition, and surprisingly it went well, and I didn't fuck up. I was kinda impressed with myself. I manage to find my way back to my dorm room to see jess with Tom Cuddle up on the claustrophobic bed. When she notices me she pushes Tom off the bed and sits up on her elbows. " You did great today I see why you were offered a scholarship back in London" she smirks while tom has his glaring eyes focused on me.
He blurts out "we are going to a party tonight and your coming. You need a little pick me up. Nothing wrong with coming to a party to meet your potential new cheer squad and the football team that you might be cheering for". He gets up and put his trainers on. Eyes still focused on. He is making me feel uneasy, so I anywhere but his direction away breaking the eye contact.
As soon as he exits the room, I tell jess "I am not going, I've got too much to do"
" This will be good for you. As Tom said it will help you out and give you a little extra boost when getting into the actual cheer team," as she gently pushes my shoulder and winks.
" Fine!" I huff and roll my eyes. " I have nothing to wear so looks like I can't go" I playfully joke and I rummage in my little closet.
" This will look perfect on you!" she pulls out a black leather skirt with a white low neck top. " We just need to find you a jacket go over the top and some white trainers, and it's a bold look. The boys won't be able to keep their eyes off you and keep their dicks in their pants" she burst out laughing.
" I don't want to be centre of attention plus I don't even know anyone. I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb!"
" Stop being silly you will look fine now sort your hair and makeup out. Can't wear a bomb ass outfit but look like you haven't slept in days" she jokes. Pulling a hairbrush out her purse she starts brushing her long blond hair and prep it ready to curl. I decide to look for a jacket.
"I have this one" as I pull out a black cropper denim one off the hanger to show jess. I then remember I brought while air forces that will go perfectly as they are still crisp white. I start to look under my bed and see them instantly and drag them out to show jess. " These okay?" I ask.
"Perfect!"
