Devyn Shadows

I quickly downed the drink that Draco had left for me, and I tucked the parchment in the bedside tables drawer. After dozing off for another twenty minutes, my headache came to an end relieving my pain.

By the look of it, Draco hadn't been back to the room since the other night. Hoping that his streak of disappearance would continue, I decide that a bath would be the most relaxing was to spend my Sunday.
I turn on the faucet, and I watch as the hot water fills up the giant bath tub. I run over to the sink and open to bottom drawer to reveal a huge selection of bath bombs. I pick the vanilla scented once, since it is my signature scent that I wear everywhere. I drop the bath bomb into the tub, and watch as if fizzes it's way to nothing.

I quickly discard my clothes, and I throw them against the bathroom door. My feet step forward into the tub followed my the rest of my body. The mild hot water created a tingly feeling throughout my body as it relaxed all of my muscles. This was the best I've felt in a long time.

After some time soaking in the water, I decide it's best for me to get dressed for the day. I open the walk-in closet and pick out a skirt with a sweater, accompanied by some short black boots. I take my time to get dressed in the mirror, trying to cover up any imperfections that could tell people about my previous nights. The sweater I chose was a turtle neck that thankfully covered up and marks or bruises on my neck. After I inspected my perfectly put together outfit, I slip on my boots and I make my way to the great hall.

At this time the corridors where almost completely empty, the only trace of students where lost first years, and people snogging in the supply closet. Thankfully when I got to the great hall there was some food left for me to eat. At the end of the Slytherin table Astoria Greengrass and her group of minion where sitting down and gossiping. I decide it would be better to site with someone, rather than to sit alone so I make my way over to the table. As I was about fifteen feet away Astoria looks up with her narrowed eyes and gives me a glare, then she turns back to her group to whisper.

My feet immediately turn around sensing that my presence was not wanted so I make my way the the far table where no one sat.

"Aye Devyn come sit with us."

I turn around looking for where my name came from. Then at the far table I see a boy with orange colored hair waving at me. A smile immediately forms across my face as I make It over to Gryffindor table. Once I reach the table I was surrounded by Fred and his brother George. They where both focused on a game that looked like chess.

"What is that." I ask curiously, Itching to feel included in whatever they where doing. "It's wizards chess, would you like a go." Fred says in a welcoming voice. I shake my head subtly hoping to just be a spectator of the match.

"Well you look at the Freddie, she doesn't know how to play." Replies the identical brother. "Yes I do." I say, almost getting defensive. "Alright show us what you got Shadows." Says the both in unison. "What?" I reply, confused of what they want me to do. Fred pats the seat right next to him, beckoning for me to sit down. I carefully hold down my skirt as I take a seat next to Fred.

"Your going to play George." Fred says competitively. I look at Fred as my eyes get wide hoping to make up and excuse. Fred looks at me carefully and somehow gets the memo. "I'll tell you what to do." Fred whispers in my ear, so George can't hear, helping my confidence. I nod my head in an agreement.

Through the the whole entire match I looked over at Fred to watch him mouth the next chess move. Throughout the game I could tell the George was catching on, but he was just being polite to not say anything. I stayed in the great hall with the twins for an hour and a half, learning my way the the game chess. After a bit of time they both had to leave, so they could attend their joke shop. I offer to go help but they insisted on me enjoying my day off.

Without Fred and George, the great hall seemed extremely empty. I continued to site at the table, determined to learn to play, so I could beat George next time. As I was focused on the chess pieces I see a splash of blonde in my peripheral vision. I immediately turn my head directly to the Slytherin table to face Draco. My eyes observe him in the distance, by the looks of it he hasn't gotten much sleep, hopefully being the reason he is always in a bad mood.

Just before I look away, his grey eyes meet mine. When they did my heart did a cartwheel of hope. Draco and I kept contact for what felt like forever, every second more he looked at me his eyes would sparkle a bit more. I could hear a loud group of boys enter the hall. As soon as Draco's friends go to the table he immediately takes his eyes off of me as if he was embarrassed.

I quickly pick up my bag and make my way out of the great hall in attempt to not make a fool out of myself.
