Josephine POV :
"Grandma?" Mercy questions in confusion. "Why are you here, did they take you too?" Her voice breaks from the pending tears. The look in her grandmothers face says it all, but I don't think Mercy sees it.
"No, they didn't take me. This is my house." She states matter-of-factly and crosses her arms.
"Then why have I been taken here and why didn't you help me escape?" Mercy asks if pure confusion and sadness at her grandmothers harshness.
The woman scoffs and rolls her eyes, "your really that stupid huh?" She cackles a bit. "I had some rouges help me to take you." She shrugs her shoulders and Mercy stumbles back a bit.
"Why?" Her broken voice asks.
"Because... You. Were. A. Mistake. Nobody saw it but I did, your a vampire and I had to get rid of you." She then smirks, "now I'll just permanently get rid of you," she lunges at Mercy and I take control.
I feel both of Mercy's eyes turn to mine as I hold the old filthy woman by her hair and wrist. "No you don't," my voice is clearly mine. "You have just committed a crime punishable by death, which is killing a relative of the Moon Goddess, pup." I spit out. I hear Mercy gasp in my mind as does this bitch.
My power and dominance starts to ooze from Mercy's body, "I'm-I'm sorry, Goddess." She stutters in fear.
"No your not," I deeply whisper in her ear, "I can smell your lies." I stand up straight and allow my white eyes to show and summon my unconscious body into the room. That's when I leave Mercy's mind and enter my own.
I awake smoothly and stand up from the floor, I see both Mercy and her grandmother staring at me with wide eyes.
"Somnum." I snap my fingers and the old woman falls to the floor unconscious.
("Sleep.")
"Now," I look to Mercy, "let's get out of this hell hole." Effortlessly I lift the woman over my shoulder and me and Mercy exit the house. Using my enhanced sense of smell, I lead me and Mercy in the direction of where my mates scent is coming from.
Two hours later, the pack house comes into view and Mercy stops abruptly. "What's wrong?" I ask her.
"I don't know if I can do this," she shakily tells me.
I place a hand on her shoulder. "You can, I believe in you." She gives me a light smile and nods. When we enter the mansion, everyone stops and stares at us with fear.
I toss the granny to the side on the floor not caring about her.
Noticing my mate isn't anywhere in site, I get irritated. "WHERE IS MY MATE!" I yell out with my Goddess voice.
"The silver room," a pack member whispers. With a huff I march down multiple hallways and staircases and come upon the thick silver door and kick in open. I gasp in horror once I see Hero laying on the floor shivering with his eyes closed in the fetal position.
"Oh baby," I mumble and rush over to him where I bring him up in my arms.
His eyes open slowly, "Jo?" His voice rasps out and sounds painful, he breaks into a fit of coughs.
"I'm here, love." I rock him in my arms. "Let's go to our room." I get up and pick him up over my shoulder. This is a position that I never thought I would be in.
I leave the room and growl at any person who looks our way and head straight to our room where I lay him down on the bed. I try to leave to get some water but am stopped by him gripping my wrists weakly. "Just lay with me?" He begs.
"Of course," I get in the bed with him and hug him tightly to me. I hear him sigh in content. As he sleeps I give him some of my strength that I've accumulated in the last hours to help heal him from the wolfspain faster. "I love you." I whisper to his sleeping form. Then grip him closer to me where I then falls asleep.
I'm not worried about what Mercy's doing because for one, she grew up here, she knows her way around. And second I linked her to me so that I know when she is in danger.
Few hours later.....
The feeling of a hand caressing my hair awakes me from my sleep and I open my eyes to see Hero's chest that my head is laying on. "Hello, love." His voice rasps from above me.
I look up at him to see him smiling. "Hello, how are you feeling?" I ask him.
"Good, I know that you have some of your strength to me to help heal me. I can feel it coursing through me."
"Oh? What does it feel like?" I ask curiously, I'm used to the feeling so I'm curious as to what it feels like for him.
"I'm not sure how to describe it. I just feel stronger, more powerful." I nod my head in understanding than abruptly hop off the bed.
Hero looks at me curiously. "I have a surprise for you," I tell him and I grip his hand and yank him from the bed. Pulling him out of the room I take him to where I assume Mercy's room is, it has the strongest smell of her.
"No way, I'm not going in there." Hero tells me on the verge of tears.
"Just trust me, alright?" He nods his head reluctantly. I knock on the door and a moment later it's opened by a freshly showered and groomed Mercy. Instantly their eye connect and Hero takes a moment looking her up and down.
"Are you r-real?" He stutters and she nods with a grin. He then takes her in him arms and spins around. Her giggles echos throughout the hallway as I walk away with a smirk, leaving them to have bonding time after such a long time apart.
