Third Person POV:

It's the day before the full moon, both the Alpha and Luna are nervous. They are nervous for some of the same reasons but then they both still have their own doubts. The Alpha doesn't want to witness his beloved Luna dying, even though he knows she will come back. He knows that he won't just physically hurt but mentally and emotionally as well. He is also nervous for the fact that something could go terribly wrong.

The Luna on the other hand is nervous of the fact that her mate with be in pain, but that's not just it..... you see, the Luna has withheld some very important information from everyone. The information that if anything goes wrong with the ritual, she won't wake up. She will be stuck in between life and death in a abyss where lost souls go forever, she will never find peace nor will she ever wake. The Luna has decided not to tell her mate for she does not want to scare him.

Her mother's ritual went perfectly, so hers will as well. Right?

But one more thing.... Hero has to be the one to kill her.

Hero POV:

The last night before my beloved mates temporary death, wow that's scary. I don't want to think about that, so I won't. I just want to get in bed and hold Jo tightly in my arms and never let her go. The desire to make Jo mine completely is getting strong, really strong. But I know I need to hold off till after this whole ritual is over, but man it will be so satisfying to finally take her.

I look up from the paper work that sits on my desk to see Jo sitting on the couch in my office, reading a book with now drooping eyes. "Cmon darling, let's get you to bed," I say as I rise to my feet and stride over to Jo. I bend over slightly so that I can gather her in my arms, instantly she wraps her arms around my neck and snuggles into me. Her eyes are now fully closed, I admire her beautiful face and try to memorize every single wrinkle, freckle, blemish and indent in her perfect face for I would never want to forget any of it.

Carrying her down the hall to our room, I revel in the feeling of her body pressed to mine and the way in which her body provides so much warmth. I don't want to lose my baby, ever. It would absolutely kill me if I ever had to live a day in this life without her by my side, making her cheesy jokes that aren't even funny but hearing and seeing her laugh so hard at them make me want to join in, so I do. The highlight of my day is waking up to already having blue-grey eyes looking at me while her soft hands trace the plains of my face.

I set her in bed, she already being in her pjs because she refused to change out of them today claiming that it was a lazy day. Pulling off my clothes, only leaving me in my boxers, I slide into be bed next to her and pull her tightly into my embrace. I smell her then tuck my face into her neck acting as if this is the last time I will ever hold her. Though every night I act as if it will be the last time I ever hold her. Sad, I know.

Poke. Poke poke. Slap! "I'm awake!" I open my eyes expecting to see my mate but instead I'm greeted with the face of Felix. "What the fuck?! Why are you here and where is Jo?"

"Well mister grumpy pants, Jo went out to get some stuff and told me to tell you that she wants you to meet her at your guys 'special spot', whatever that means, at 10pm." Great, I almost forgot what day it was but Felix just had to remind me.

"Okay, get the fuck out so I can get dressed," I snap.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning," Felix grumbles as he walks out of the room. I just roll my eyes at his idiocy, then head over to my closet where I pull out a pair of black jeans and a white t-shirt that sits snugly on my body. Deciding that I don't give a fuck about my appearance today, I messily run a hand through my hair then I slap a hat on, I look at myself in the mirror; then give a quick nod; satisfied with my look.

Third Person POV (again):

The day passes in a blur for the scared Alpha, he chews on his bottom lip the whole day; a nervous habit of his. He drowns himself in work to try and forget about what will happen tonight, but it doesn't work. It still plays on repeat, there is a voice in the back of his mind that keeps telling him that something isn't right.

Meanwhile Jo is feeling more than ready for the inevitable, she finds that the best option is to not tell Hero about him being the one to execute her until it is time; so that he has no choice and no time to protest. Jo has gathered all the necessities, a special silver knife blessed by a ancient witch under the moons light. That's it, that's all she needs. She told Felix to tell Hero to meet her at 10pm so that she has time to mentally prepare.

All to quickly the time comes, Jo stands in the middle of the circle shaped clearing in the woods when Hero approaches. Her back is to him, golden locks are lit up by the light of the moon and she is wearing a knee length, white dress that hides her curves as it sits loose upon her glowing skin. As Hero comes up behind his mate, he places his large hands upon his mates hips; relishing in the feeling of the sparks flowing through him, the buzz in intoxicating to both the Alpha and Luna.

"Hero?" Jos soft voice breaks the thick silence.

"Yes love?" He replies to her.

"There's one thing about the ritual that I lied about," she tells her now confused mate.

"Well, what did you lie about?" He asks nervously, hoping that it isn't as bad as what he's thinking. "It's not bad is it?" He asks hopefully.

She turns around to face him, "well, it's not too bad," she whispers out. Hero gives her a look, encouraging her to continue, "you shall be the one to execute me. And before you go and try to protest, there's no time. We only have about five minutes left before the ritual shall commence." She avoids his eyes while she speaks, now ashamed of keeping such a secret from him. When she looks back to his face, she sees that it is filled with both horror and fear.

"W-what?" He stutters our.

"You have to kill me," she says slowly but clearly.

"N-no I can't-"

She places a finger on his lips to silence him, "shh, yes you can my love. I'll come right back to you." She takes a deep breathe, "after this is done, take my body to Felix and Kathrine, I have them instructions on what to do next." She tells her scared mate. He gulps and nods.

Jo bends down to retrieve a leather satchel that has been laying next to her feet, she opens it and reaches in to then reveal a shiny silver knife with a special clothes wrapped around the handle to prevent it burning either of the werewolves hands.

Both Jo and Hero look up to the moon, "it's time," Jo breathes out. She takes Hero's hand and opens it, then placing the knife in his hand. "You got this, everything is going to be okay," she grabs his face in between her hands. Hero leans down, wrapping a arm around his mates waist and presses a deep kiss upon her lips.

They work against each other's for a few moments before Jo gasps and pulls her face away slightly when she feels a sharp burning pain enter her chest, "I love you," Hero whispers to his mate who is still being held up by his arm, he listens intently to her fading heart beat that grows slower and slower. He had plunged the dagger into her heart during the kiss wanting her to feel how much he loved her as he was the one taking her precious life.

"I'll love you forever," he hears his mate whisper out right before she goes limp in his arms. Hero feels Hardin go restless and angers, but he has to remind him of the clear instructions that Jo displayed to him.

Get her to Felix and Kathrine.

The next chapter might be a little bit sad btw.
