CHURROS
xiii, california

Joe was now in the driver's seat. It's only been 12 hours since they started driving and sadly they know it takes 44 hours to get to California from New York, which means they have a long ride ahead of them.

Momentarily, Joe decided to pull into a nearby gas station. Love was asleep on the passenger's side, so when Joe went over the speed bump, that woke her up.

"Where are we?" She groaned as she tried to open her eyes.

Joe put the car in park, "Gas station. Thought we could get some food and use the bathroom."

Love nodded, sitting up in the seat. Joe unlocked the car and they both got out, then started to make their way into Wawa's.

Beck got out her car and went into the police station. She walked up to the man behind the desk. "Hi, I'm here to see if someone is here. Joe Goldberg."

The officer nodded, than typed his name in this computer doing a quick search. His file popped up on the screen.

"As of last night, he was check out." The officer told beck.

Beck was in a bit of confusion. It didn't make any sense. Someone would have at least told her right? But then again, she and love don't particularly like each other and she screwed Joe over, so why would they tell her anything.

She nodded, giving the officer a small smile before leaving the station to her car. She got in her car and immediately called Joe. She knew it was a long shot, they haven't been talking much lately. She waited for a few seconds, until the phone just stopped ringing.

"Beck?" Joe spoke on the other line.

"Hey, where are you? You're not at the station anymore?" Beck sounded a bit concerned. She knew he was still pissed about everything and at her but that didn't stop her from still caring about him.

"In all due respect, that is my concern and not yours. Just know I'm fine. Live your life and don't worry about me." He spoke as if he would never see her again.

"I just wanted to make sure you're ok." She said, leaning back into the driver's seat.

"I appreciate the concern, but I'm ok. Like I said, have a good life. Goodbye, Beck." He lastly said before hanging up.

Beck was kind of confused, why exactly was he talking like he was never going to see her again. He was talking almost as if he was guilty of something. Beck shook those thoughts out her mind and drove home. On that drive home, she thought about how Joe moved on which she should try to do too. So before even reaching her front door, she got back in her car and drove to peach's house.

Justin within twenty minutes, she sat in the car in front of peach's house. Beck soon got out and made her way to the front door then knocking on it. She waited for her to answer and within seconds, peach did. She was stunned to see Beck at her doorstep so soon.

"Wow, didn't think you miss me that much." Peach let out that sarcastic tone as Beck pushed pass her, walking into the house.

"I want to talk. I want to have a heart to heart conversation about you, me and us. I mean, if you're down." Beck had her arms crossed over her chest.

"Very mature of you." Peach comment. "Let me get dress first." She then said leaving the door way and heading to her bedroom to put on clothes. As peach went to get dress, Beck walked to the kitchen.

Love and Joe made their way back to the car from their little pick stop. They usually take turns but Joe insists that he wouldn't mind driving for another hour or so. As they continued on their way to California, love just couldn't help but ask. Though she already may know the answer, she just wanted to hear it from him. From his mouth.

"So uh, was that Beck in the store?" She ask almost hesitantly.

"Yeah, she was just checking on me." He said as his eyes stayed glued to the road.

"Right. That's nice." She paused, "Do you still have feelings for her?"

Joe drove the car on the side of the road then put it in park. He turned to face his girlfriend. "If I still had feelings for her would I be in this car right now driving all the way to California with you?"

"I don't know. I don't know what goes on in your head." She said which just made Joe chuckle.

"You have nothing to worry about, promise." He told her as he leaned in to kiss her.

She kissed back and after that one kiss, they kept kissing. Things were leading to one another. Joe had leaned the chair back and love got on top of him. They were about to do the unexpected but expected, sex on the side of the road in the car and they didn't care if anyone saw.
