Tiptoeing down the halls, Clarke made her way towards the large doors. It was early morning and every day for the past five days since Clarke arrived at the castle she would sneak out and embrace the fresh air before roan found her and forced her into her stuffy room.

Clarke pulled a purple hood over her blonde braids which now hung loosely around her face. The hood was a good enough disguise and kept people from knowing who she was.

It was to early for people to be awake so the only ones awake were the market sellers preparing their stools ready for the day.

"Everyday like clockwork Clarke."Echo whispered behind Clarke's shoulder making her shudder.

"Hello echo."

Clarke and echo walked through the market nothing was selling yet but that didn't matter, Clarke only came to see the life she could've had if she was born in the ground.

"I promised to keep your secret but if you don't stop doing this soon I met just have to tell the king."Echo sneered from beside Clarke.

"You would never."

Echo had found Clarke wondering down the halls on the second day, she promised to keep it a secret and long as Clarke was back at the castle before 10, the time the king wakes up.

Soon after echo left Clarke's side and wondered off to the stables. It was becoming increasingly colder and the horses needed more attention now more than ever.

Clarke climbed up a small hill and sat at the top looking over at the market stalls as they were put up. The sounds of talking and metal clambering echoed through the kingdom.

After a while of staring down as people set up their stools and carried boxes of food and clothes through the streets Clarke made her way back to the castle.

She creeped through the shadows of the castle and up the stairs. The stairs creaked under her feet if they were any louder they would give her away.

As soon as Clarke was behind the safety of her room she started to take off her hood and shoes. The sound of someone clearing their throat on the bed startled her.

"You scared me!"Clarke screamed.

Roan did not move from the bed instead he sat up more so he could see Clarke more visibly. He finally pulled his legs off the bed and walked towards her. He made a point to tower over her so she knew how much little power she had.

"Stop wondering out in the mornings."Roan ordered, he grabbed the handle of the door and walked out leaving Clarke speechless.

Clarke chucked on a white corset which had a large stain but she covered the stain with a black cardigan. The cardigan was soft against her skin and it was in good condition compared to all the others clothes she had found.

"How did you know?"Clarke asked clearly annoyed as she sat down beside roan on the dining table.

They had made it normal for them to eat together before parting and spending the rest of the day apart until dinner came around. Clarke still struggled to keep anything down, but she knew it would take some time till she forgave herself. If that was possible.

"I've seen you wondering out every day like clockwork."

"Why didn't you stop me?"

Their was a long silence that made Clarke impatient for his answer so she waved her hands in front of his face signalling for him to respond.

"I wanted you to have some fun but you have to stop."His tone was kinder now, more understanding.

Clarke only nodded and returned to playing with the out of season strawberries on her plate.
