Clarke woke up in a pile of sheets that smothered her small body, she had been carried from the balcony to the bed. A cool breeze swirled around the room.

She jumped out of bed and slipped on a faded white corset and a pair of black flares that were a size to small but it didn't matter because they still matched the outfit.

"Wake up."Clarke grumbled as she threw a pile of clothes at roan.

He took them in his hands and pulled them over his head. The armor was uncomfortable but it was necessary.

A voice at the door made them both jump, there was no need for them to keep the relationship a secret now that there was an alliance but Clarke didn't want her mum or her friends to find out about roan before she knew what it was herself.

Roan helped Clarke under the bed, it clearly hadn't been cleaned for some time as crumbs were embedded into the carpet.
It was a tight space but at least she was away from the prying eyes of whoever stood at the door.

"Who is it ?"Roans voice filled the small room and Clarke grasped a hand over her mouth to stop her from laughing. It wasn't even that it was funny but she always found herself laughing in awkward situations. When she was in solitary confinement she would laugh at the guards dropping her food through the door like she would bite their hand off or something. Most of the guards ended up thinking she was going mad from the lack of human communication really she was just unable to contain her emotions.

"It's Marcus Kane."The stern voice at the door replied.

The door creaked open as roan pulled on the handle in-came the familiar face of Marcus Kane.

"I'm leaving with some of your people to try and find out who in Arkadia was planning an attack on you."

Clarke stayed hidden under the bed, she could peak through a sheet hanging off the side to stare at the conversation as it played out.

"Ok is that all?"

It was an uncomfortable situation, the tension in the air was evident between the two leaders.

"Keep Clarke safe, it's just Abby-"
Whatever Kane was going to say he was cut off by roan.

"I won't let anyone or anything hurt him."

Clarke's heart swelled with something unfamiliar, the way roan spoke about her made her feel a sense of comfort.

"Thankyou I'll be going now sire."

Kane left the room and Clarke shuffled out from under the bed, she now had a banging headache.

"Sire."clarke laughed, mocking the very old fashioned name for a king.

Roan smirked at her as they walked out the room together, without being seen by any wondering maids or servants.

Once, they were out the hall that led to roans temporary room they hugged. The hug was warm and new.

"I have work to do here I'll see you tonight."

Clarke nodded knowing how important it was for the king of Azgeda to attend meetings and keep his honorable reputation.

Light rain clouds trickled down on the city, the snow was slowly being washed away as it turned into a mush.

Clarke stomped through the snow hesitantly, if it was like that here she couldn't imagine what Azgeda was going through after getting a snow storm. The whole kingdom must be covered in the depressing aftermath of the magical ice.

Loudly, rainfall picked up and thunder crackled in the sky. It was rare that polis experienced thunder storms but during winter months it was more common.
