Dean's POV
"Car?" I growled. So this was the douche bag Rose has been talking about?
"Rosie!" He yelled, throwing his arms around her waist, picking her up and swinging her around. I stood up quickly, ready to fight this guy if I had to.
"Dean." I heard a murmer beside me. I turned my head to see Sam, stood up, shaking his head. His eyes said don't. I scoffed and turned back to the disgusting scene in front of me.
Rose was chatting away excitedly, but stopped when she noticed the glare Carter was giving me. He looked in between me and Sam with squinted eyes.
"Who the hell are the living Ken dolls?" Carter asked her, gripping Rose tighter on the upper arms. I almost lunged forward at his stance, wanting to rip his grubby hands off of her. Rose turned to look back at us, forgetting we were here obviously.
"Oh, right." She remembered sheepishly. "This is Dean, and Sam?" She said, almost like a question. He glared down at her now, and it hit me. She told Carter over the phone that I was Dean and Sam was my girlfriend. Damn it.
He cursed under his breath and let her go. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding.
"What the hell Rose! You told me Sam was a girl!" Carter looked my brother up and down. "And I'm pretty sure he's not a girl."
"Car, I-" Rose began.
"No Rose. Why the hell would you lie to me? I'm disappointed in you." Carter said, looking hurt.
I growled low in my throat again. I really did not like this guy. Thefe was something about his smile before, it looked fake, plastered on. And when he hugged her, it was a little longer than necessary, like he was afraid to let go. And now he thinks that he can control her every move? Who the hell does he think he is?
Rose opened her mouth with an apologetic expression, but I cut her off. "Look Car, you're not her parent. Or her boyfriend. So back the hell off. She doesn't need to apologize to you." I couldn't pin point why I was so angry. Carter looked surprised, and Sam gripped my arm in warning.
"Excuse me? How long have you known Rose? A few days? I've known her my whole life." He said life as if that made all the difference. I shook off Sam's grip and pushed myself towards him. Rose stepped back so that we were chest to chest.
"You're lucky I'm not calling the police right now." Carter said, trying to be menacing. I laughed darkly. "I dare you." Was all I said.
"Guys, stop." Rose cut in, stepping in between us. She stood in front of me and faced Carter.
"Rose, he kidnapped you! Did they force you to do other things?" Carter exclaimed, waving his hands around. I grew angrier, if that was even possible, at his assumption. I would never take advantage of Rose like that.
"What? No! They would never do that, Car! They helped me!" Rose explained, offense laced in her voice. I smirked at Carter. She was practically defending us against her BFF.
Carter looked at her in disbelief. "Is that what they told you to think?"
"That's it-" I lost it immediately. Lunging at him, Sam grabbed me by the waist and pulled me back. "Dean stop!" Rose cried, pushing against my chest.
"Look Rose. I'm taking you home, okay? Aunt Helen is worried sick, and so am I. This guy is a psychopath!" Carter yelled.
The cashier who had been at the back in the kitchen decided to wander out front to see what was happening. "I'm fine, I'm good." I told Sam. He released me hesitantly and I brushed my shoulders off.
"Let's not cause a bigger scene, okay?" Sam said quietly. Carter grabbed Rose's sleeve. "Let's go babe." He practically begged. Babe? There was something wrong with this guy.
"Carter, no." Rose said, standing her ground and yanking her hand away. The three of us looked at her in shock. All she has been talking about was Carter, why wouldn't she want to go?
Sensing his hurt, she placed her hand in his. I frowned. She met my eyes and just gave a slow nod.
Turning to the guy in front of her, Rose took a deep breath. "I'm sorry Car, but I have to stay with them. I can't really explain it, but I have to stay. I'm sorry Car." She explained.
I held back a grin. Take that douche pants.
Carter's face fell, and his desperateness was brought to my attention. Why did he want her to go so bad? Something was wrong.
"Why do you want her to go back so terribly?" I spoke out, crossing my arms. Both of them looked at me, and panic crossed Carter's face. He tried to cover it up with a concerned look.
"She's my best friend d*ck. I love her, and don't want her around random guys with anger management problems." He lied.
"Look man, I'd stop while you're ahead." Sam warned him.
"Is everything okay?" The cashier called out. All of us were reminded of her presence. "Yes ma'am, everything's fine. I was just going to leave." Carter called back. "Thank God." I said, purposely loud enough for Carter to hear. He gave me a dirty look and turned to Rose.
"If you change your mind, call me anytime." Carter told Rose. There was no way in hell that was happening. Rose nodded, and Carter leaned down the kiss her hairline gently. I balled my hands at my sides, and Carter got the message. He let go of her and backed up slowly out the doors.
I saw him run his hands through his hair in frustration as he walked to his black Ford Escape. How cheap was this guy?
Rose turned to me and Sam, tears in her eyes.
I was focused on the guy driving off down the road. Not only was he a d*ck, but he was acting super strange. But one thing bothered me.
He hadn't even ordered anything. There was no wallet in his pocket or anywhere near him.
It was almost as if he knew we were here.
