Rose's POV
I must've dozed off in the Impala because when I opened my eyes, the car was stopped and the boys were nowhere to be seen. I sat up immediately from my slouched position against the car door and rubbed my tired eyes. My back and neck were now stiff because of my body's prior position.
I could hear the trunk being opened and I could hear muffled voices coming from the back. Baby gently swayed with the motion of, what I assumed, were the boys digging through the trunk.
I sighed and leaned forward over the front seat, looking upward out the window.
A big, metal door was partially hidden among several leafy plants. Brick surrounded it and I could see some stairs. The bunker.
The trunk slammed and I decided it was time to stop observing. I opened the door and stepped outside. A blanket of chilly air surrounded me and I visibly shivered. Sam must've noticed because he gave me an apologetic smile. "Don't worry, it's warmer inside." He assured me.
I nodded and returned his small smile as he walked past me to the stairs. I heard a grunt and looked over my shoulder. Dean was standing above my bag and his bags, trying to fit all of the straps on his hands simultaneously. I reached out my hand to say I'll take mine but he frowned and dismissed me.
Before I could insist, he shushed me. "You need rest. I'll take the damn bag."
And he did.
Once we were inside, the door clammered shut behind us. The room was pitch dark, and I fumbled for something to hold on to. I grabbed something warm and calloused and as if on cue, my body relaxed.
I heard a flicker, and suddenly light lit up the room. I closed my eyes briefly at the stunning light but slowly opened them after a few seconds. Once my eyes adjusted, I was free to look around.
There was a large wooden table below us and I realized then that we were standing on metal stairs overlooking a huge room. A large light source donned light over the table and there were several chairs pushed in to meet the table's edge. Books. So many books. They littered the table as well as the floor and shelves situated around the room. I could see glass cases full of vintage-looking weapons like rusty guns and knives with neat handles. Maps were plastered on almost every wall and some of them had red pins marking certain locations.
Beautiful.
I heard someone clear their throat, and I tore my eyes from a map. I looked up to see Dean towering over my small frame, a smirk on his face. I gave him a confused look and something squeezed my hand in response. I looked down quickly to see that I had a grip on a big hand.
I felt my eyes widen and my cheeks flare as I tried to pull away from Dean's grip that swallowed mine. He kept his hand tight around mine however, and he gave it one last squeeze before releasing.
I took my hand back in embarassment and looked away from him. "No need for embarrassment, princess." Dean said. I couldn't see him but I knew he was smirking cheekily. And with that, he bounded down the steps.
I then realized that Sam was not down there, but behind where Dean had previously been standing. He smiled sheepily. "Afraid of the dark?" He questioned. At first I thought he was making fun of me, but I remembered that it was Sam. Damn, why didn't I fall in love with him instead?
"A little." I whispered. He nodded and squeezed my arm on the way to the stairs. "Good, you should be. There's a lot of things hiding in the dark." He answered, his back turned. I didn't know what to say, and I felt my heartrate speed up. Once he reached the stairs, Sam turned to me again.
