Chapter 11 : Apologies and lasagna

Danileigh wasn't certain but she had a feeling Lexi had been avoiding her ever since that night, two weeks ago. Lexi doesn't stay for breakfast or dinner, she made sure to go for parties every night after her shift at the club therefore avoiding the house till the early hours of the morning when she's home shit drunk and leaves before the break of dawn! Danileigh could never believe someone so hungedover could actually find the willpower to be up before she is. Sometimes she could swear Lexi doesn't make it home and crash someplace else

And all this bothered her.

Sure they've been bestfriends for like ever and they fought alot, but this was actually the first time they haven't spoken to each other for daysss!!! And if didn't scream bad omen danileigh didn't know what else would

Sipping her cup of decaf, danileigh eyed the door one last time, and glanced at the wall clock hanging over the wall by the foyer of the household

4:45 am

she had been pretty determined to speak to Lexi the night before now her pregnancy hormones were prolly yelling at her for not having any sleep at all. She sigh clearly giving up and walked towards the sink to rinse her mug when she heard the front door open ever so slightly, she would have almost missed it if it wasn't for her super hearing reflexes

Lexi tried to tip- toe her way into her room but luck wasn't on her side today as danileigh stood by the edge of the door patiently waiting

" How much longer Lee?"

Danileigh's voice startled Lexi, she certainly didn't think danileigh will be up this early

"Did you have any sleep last night at all?" Danileigh knew she wasn't asking, more of stating

" This isn't like us Lee, seriously a whole 2 weeks and you haven't battled an eyelid at me moreso even stay in the same room, I know what I did was bad and I'm truly sorry but aren't you satisfied? Why is this punishment going on much longer? When will you stop avoiding me?"

Lexi sigh, walking pass danileigh into the kitchen and headed towards the coffee maker. Warming up the coffee she would be downing in some minutes Lexi wished it was alcohol instead but it's too early to get drunk and she was still nursing a bad hangover

"I don't know what you are talking about Dani, I ain't avoiding you"

For some reason Lexi couldn't make eye contact with her and that made danileigh mad

"Alright then! Why don't I just move out of your way? It seems like I'm more of an hindrance than friend or roommate right now"

Lexi huffs, pouring her coffee into her mug and taking a sip, waiting for the coffee to work it's magic. After what seemed like forever she spoke up

" I just needed space Dani, I'm not avoiding or shii I just needed space. I realised I acted out and I guess it's because I couldn't stomach the fact you could actually pull a stint like that but now I see I'm being irrational, it's your baby and your life after all. I can't stop you from doing whatever you want" danileigh pursed her lips, as much as she wanted to deny it and flip shit on Lexi she was actually the cause of it all

"I'm sorry okay, I wasn't thinking and at the moment it was like an offer I couldn't pass out----" she paused bitting her lip

"I feel like a horrible mother and it doesn't help when you go all ghost mode on me when I'm at the point of breaking down or looking my sanity" her eyes glisted with tears

"I'm so sorry" danileigh managed to choke out, Lexi dropped her mug coming closer and wrapping danileigh with her arms.

"I have to be the one apologizing Dani, I should have expected anything and handled it more calmly, I'm truly sorry"

Both friends stood wrapped in each other's arms, trying to confront themselves

"So I was thinking lasagna and movies, I have the day off"

Danileigh grinned wiping the last drops of tears

"Now I love the way you think"
