It had been nearly three years since Kara Danvers first met and befriended Diana Prince, Barbara Gordon, Karen Beecher, Zee Zatara, and Jessica Cruz. Now Kara was almost 18, ready to start her senior year at Metropolis High School. She walked to school and saw her friend Barbara. "Hey Babs!" Kara said enthusiastically, "how was your summer vacation?"
"Hey Kara. My summer? When we weren't saving the day, hanging out, and having sleepovers with the other girls?" Barbara asked, "eh, kinda boring. Mostly working at Burrito Bucket. How's Krypto?" Kara smiled and said, "Krypto is doing good. Thanks for asking. Man, it's hard to believe we're already seniors! Only feels like yesterday we first met." Babs smiled and said, "yeah, good times." Kara and Babs went to their lockers. Kara was assigned a new locker. Her locker combination numbers were 59, 2, and 52. As Kara tried to memorize her locker combo and worked on it, a young man wandered next to her, opening his locker. He was Kara's height, athletically built, looked to be around 17. He had the same skin tone as Kara, except he had short light brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a yellow collared buttoned down long sleeve shirt, a mahogany sweater, blue jeans, green socks, and black converse sneakers.

The minute Kara saw this mystery man, Kara felt a warm feeling inside. Her heart was all aflutter, heat rose in her cheeks, and her eyes widened. "Oh Rao..." Kara thought, "he's so handsome... Wait, am I... Developing a crush on this guy? I barely know him! Wow, now I know how Diana felt... Say hi to him, you dummy!"
"Uh, hi!" Kara said, blushing. The mystery man looked at Kara and nonchalantly said, "hey." Kara still had a blush on her face as she asked, "are you a new student? I don't think I've seen you here before." Kevin nodded and silently said, "mhmm." Kara giggled, "nice sweater vest..." the mystery man nodded and said, "thanks. I like your jacket. It pairs well with your boots and really goes well with your hair." Kara blushed and giggled a lot more. Now she knew how Diana felt whenever Steve talked to her. And not that many guys made nice compliments about Kara's clothes. "Well, see you around," the mystery man said as he then shut his locker, getting his books, and walked away. Kara regained her focus and opened her locker, trying to hide her blush. She then put her backpack in her locker while taking out her journals, knowing she had lots of work to do. But there was an intensity in this man's brown eyes that Kara saw that she could connect to. He looked lonely. It reminded Kara of when she first came to Earth. But Kara decided to push those thoughts aside as she went to her first class, thinking of her friends, not knowing she'd get to know more about this mystery man.
