A Not So Happy Father and Son Reunion

After Kevin and Kara shared their first kiss at the Sadie Hawkins Dance, they immediately started a romantic relationship together. They truly loved each other and Kara made Kevin very happy. When they weren't at school or Kara wasn't saving the day with her friends as Supergirl, she was often hanging out with Kevin, going on a date or making out with him. Like I said, this relationship was very romantic and happy. Three months flew by, and the two lovers were at Sweet Justice. Kevin was drinking a cookies and cream milkshake while Kara was eating a chocolate sundae.

"Man, it's almost hard to believe that in a few months, I'll be graduating high school with the girls," said Kara. "I know, right?" Kevin said, "you excited? Got any plans to go to a certain college?" Kara shrugged and said, "yeah, I'm excited. I am interested in attending Metropolis University. I heard that Barbara's been accepted to Gotham University. I'm really happy for her." Kevin sipped some of his milkshake and said, "I definitely wish I could have gone to Gotham University. Look on the bright side, Kara. In about a year, I'll graduate from Metropolis High School and hopefully I'll be able to go to Metropolis University. It'll just be a year apart. No biggie." Kara smiled and said, "yeah, no biggie. I definitely think you're smart enough to attend Metropolis University." Kevin smiled and said, "thanks Kara. Hey when we're finished with our treats, what do you want to do afterwards? You want to give Krypto a walk?" Kara smirked and said, "or we could go below to the lair and make out. Have a little fun." She playfully winked at him. "I think I like that second option better..." Kevin said in a smooth manner that made Kara's toes curl.

Suddenly, there was a massive explosion that broke down the wall, and the couple could hear a blood-curdling laugh. Kevin could recognize that blood-curdling laugh anywhere. It made his blood run cold and gave him a look of fright. "No... it can't be him..." Kevin said, terrified. "Oh, but it is, son..." a demonic and venomous voiced hissed while chuckling sadistically, "Daddy's home. And I've been looking everywhere for you, Kevin..." Kara saw the menacing figure before her once the smoke cleared out. He was tall and gaunt and wore a black suit. His skin was chalk white, and his fingers were long and clawed, and his lips were a blood red, and his teeth were a nasty yellow. His smile was unnatural and could frighten anyone. He wore a black cowl that covered the top part of his face. And he had a metallic visor that covered his eyes that had spikes. This was Kevin's father, who had now become The Batman Who Laughs! His appearance was enough to scare Kara. "That's your dad?" Kara asked, looking at her boyfriend. Kevin nodded and said, "that is, or was. But the good man who was once my father is dead. That thing in his place is a monster... I don't know how he found me..." The Batman Who Laughs gave a mock gasp, "why Kevin! I'm hurt! I travelled many alternate earths, killed billions of people... all to get to you. Once I kill you and this world, it'll be a trillion!" He then did that blood-curdling cackle. Kevin breathed fast but then he said with enough strength, "Kara... you and Barry need to get everyone out of here right now!"

"No, I'm not leaving without you!" Kara protested, "I can get the girls and we can fight them together!" Kevin looked at his girlfriend and said with desperation, "you don't understand! Fighting him is suicide! He will not hesitate to kill you or any of the others! It'll be a one-sided fight! I have to face him alone. Just make sure nobody gets hurt!" Suddenly Barry ran in wearing his Flash costume. "Come on Supergirl, let's get everyone out of here," said Flash. Kara sadly looked at Kevin, and then she and Flash speedily got everyone out of Sweet Justice. Even she knew there was literally no time for sentiment right now. Once the room cleared out, it was just Kevin and The Batman Who Laughs. "You're either very brave or very stupid to be fighting me on your own," taunted TBMWL. "I've been running away from my past long enough," said Kevin, "it's time I faced it. I will not let you kill anyone else." The Batman Who Laughs smiled and chuckled, "perhaps you will die braver than most, son." Kevin glared and said, "I'm almost glad Mom's dead. Because if she were alive right now, she'd be horrified of the monster you've become."
