"So you're the ones who burned 300 of my people alive?"
Clarke shifted in her stance before answering,
"Um, yes. Commander."
The Commander brought her hand up to underneath her chin,
"Well, i appreciate your honesty." She sighed. "At least some people own that trait!" She half-shouted to the people surrounding her. They all shifted uncomfortably,
"Leave us." She commanded. A chorus of 'yes heda' rung through the room, accompanied by the closing of a heavy wooden door.
"What are your names?" She asked looking at each of us in turn.
"Im Clarke," The blonde said, "Thats Kyara, and Echo." She finished pointing to each of us.
"You may call me Lexa," She said, looking directly at Clarke.
Echo turned her head and made a face at me, as if to say 'are we actually here'.
"And you three are all skaikru, i presume."
"No," i pipe up, "myself and Clarke are, but Echo is Azgeda."
Lexa turned to face the brunette,
"Nice to finally meet you, Echo."<>
"Do you two mind if have a word with Clarke, in private." The commander said. Both me and Echo shake our heads and turn to face the door. Once outside we turn left on the corridor and Echo speaks up,
"What was that all about?" She laughs,
"God knows." I answer looking back over my shoulder quickly. We make our way down to the ground floor and push open the entrance to the tower. Off to our right was a suspicious looking staircase going down underground. I grab Echo's arm and lead her off in the direction,
"Wait, Ky. Where are we going?" I turn around and place a finger to my lips, the brunette clearly gets the message and stops asking questions. Once at the top of the staircase i run down, Echo looks back around the corner before following me. At the bottom of the stairs there was a cage, fairly large, definitely big enough to hold prisoners. Lying on the hay on the floor was a familiar face, one i never thought i would see again.<>
"Kane!" I whisper shout to the man lay on the floor. His head lifts from the position he was in and he jerks up quickly.
"Kyara! What are you doing here?"
"No time to explain," I gesture for Echo to come next to me ,
"Can you get this open?" I ask her. She smirks,
"Did you seriously just ask me that?" I hit her on the arm,
"Would you stop being a smart-ass and just open it?" I laugh, the brunette rolls her eyes at me and kicks the lock in. The door swings open, her eyes lock onto mine.
"I think you owe me an apology." She laughs.
"In your dreams."<>
We manage to successfully escape Polis with Kane, even though his arm was definitely broken and he had bruises all over his body. We prop him up against a tree to give our arms a break. Plus, it was almost dark. And we all needed to rest. I walk off to gather wood to make a small fire and out of the corner of my eye i see
Echo sit down opposite Kane leaning up against a large rock. By the time i had gathered the fire wood the man was quietly snoring.I walk over to where the brunette is slumped and sit myself down beside her.
"Thanks for getting him out." I say turn my head to face her, she doesn't say anything back but i feel a head against my shoulder, i slide my arm around her back and rest my head on top of hers.
"Anytime." She says quietly, i smile to myself and look over towards Kane, how did he get here? And where is everyone else?<>
We wake up in the same position we fell asleep, my neck was numb from where it was placed. I look over at the brunette leaned up against me, her hair was a mess, her lips slightly parted. I didn't want to wake her, but knew i had to.
"Echo." I whisper in her ear, "Echo." I say a bit louder, the girl nose scrunches up and she leans further into me. I laugh,
"Come on, we gotta get up."
She lifts her head up of my shoulder and rubs her eyes, the way someone might when they've had a good nights sleep.
"Were you comfy there?" I ask, she nods,
"Yes, your shoulder is very comfortable."
"Thanks. I think."Kane stirs opposite us,
"Morning." He says, getting up from his spot. He cradles his bad arm in his good one.
"Feeling any better?" I ask getting up from where i was sat.
"Yeah a bit." He yawns, i reach a hand down to the brunette still sat on the floor, she takes it gratefully and hoists herself up.
"So, where did the Ark crashland then?" I laugh. Kane's face turns sour,
"Sorry, seriousness was never a strong suit of mine."
"Not too far from here." He says, his voice as montone as usual.
"May take a few hours to walk there."
I nod at the man.
"Hey, Ky. Can i have a word?" Echo asks touching my arm gently,
"Yeah." I say turning around and walking off away from Kane.<>
"Whats that about you being not serious?" The brunette asks.
"I tended to make jokes at, inappropriate times. Kane didnt like it much."
Echo laughs,
"You know, the jokes are one of the best things about you."
"You might think that. But no one else does."
"Does it matter what anyone else thinks?" The brunette smirks placing an arm over my shoulder. I shrug,
"Maybe."<>
