The Secret Grounder

Chapter 10- The Guns

I have no idea how long we've been in the room, i must've fallen asleep at some point because the last thing i remember is someone giving me and Echo a pile of clothes each. When i wake up im still sat in the same chair, my neck aches from the awkward position i had been sleeping in.
"Good morning." A voice laughs from the side of me, i look at the brunette and smile quickly.
"Can we talk?" I say grogily rubbing my eyes, "properly."
Echo nods, " i think we need to."
I sink down to the floor and rest my back up against the wall, sitting opposite Echo.
"Im sorry for leaving." I blurt out, Echo laughs,
"I get it, i do. If i saw my best friend and someone told me i couldnt hug them, i wouldve done the same thing." She says, placing a hand over the top of mine.
"You dont have anything to apologise for, their your people, youd do anything for them." She carries on," but just so you know, Trikru is making a deal with your people. And as soon as they find out you made an alliance with us they'll kick you out."
"If thats the case i have two options, either pray that they dont find out; or if you will have me come back to Azgeda." I reply moving my hand that was underneath Echo's.
"You'll have to persuade Roan, but i can help with that." Echo starts, " he's like a child once you get to know him."
I raise one of my eyebrows at the girl, "really?"
She laughs," kinda."

The door to the common room opens and lots of men with guns storm us, Echo immediately grabs onto my arm and pulls herself behind me. The people walking up to one of the hundred, i recognise the girl but cannot pinpoint her name. Two of them take one of her arms and drag her out of the room. Once their gone Echo's grip on my arm loosens and she wriggles hersslf out from behind me.
"Hey! Guys! Over here." I hear someone shout, everyone in the common room lifts their heads to look at the boy. He stands on a chair with some keys in his hand, " anyone want to get out of here?"
The room erupts into cheers as the boy, who i now recognise as Jasper, makes his way across towards where the door is. The door swings open and myself and Echo scramble to get out, everyone infront of us came to a sudden stop. The mountain men were stood watching with guns pointed at us, this was their plan all along.

I grab Echo's hand and lead her quietly back into the common room and over towards where the uniforms we came in with were. We quickly changed and the when the men pushed everyone back into the room we made our way out, joining in with the march and then spiltting up from the group at a turning. I felt bad for leaving everyone there, but at this point i only cared about getting out. Myself and Echo scramble into the elevator and i push the button that closes the door. I reach over and press the emergency stop button, stopping the elevator between levels 3 and 4. I sink down the wall of the lift and tuck my legs up resting my chin on them, all of them people i swore to protect with my plan I've left. Echo notices me and comes and sits at the side of me draping an arm over my back. I lean into her shoulder and i wasnt until Echo started running her hand along my shoulder that i started crying, everything that had happened in the past few weeks id held in. And now everything was just leaving. I sobbed quietly onto Echo's shoulder, before regaining myself and pushing up of the floor and hitting the emergency stop button again, allowing the elevator to move again.

Echo arrises from floor and stands next to me as the elevator goes up, once at the top the doors open and a guard is stood outside. Myself and Echo try to look as normal as possible when exiting the elevator, but the guard grabs on of mine and Echo's wrists and pulls us back inside. The guard slams the emergency stop button and pulls off his cap.
"Bell!" I shout running over to the boy and hugging him,
"Hey." He laughs, embracing me in a bear hug. I let him go and stare at him for a few seconds, unable to get my words out.
"How did you get here?" Echo says from behind me taking the words straight out of my mouth. The boy shrugs,
"Honestly. I have no idea." He laughs,
"It doesnt matter now anyway, your okay." I say hugging him again. The elevator opens when we reach the top and we begin at a run through the halls, Echo begins to fall behind because of her injury. So i slow down to her pace and hold out a hand, she takes it gratefully and with my added support we manage to catch up to Bellamy. The boy comes to an immediate stop and turns on his heels to look behind us, his eyes flicker to my hand in Echo's but i notice him pulling them away quickly.

Footsteps ring through the hallways, the guards were advancing on us. Bellamy said something about Clarke telling him to get as many of us out as possible. He pushes me and Echo forwards and briefly explains the way out, i hear him talking about jumping off somewhere but at that point i zone out, purely focused on the footsteps down the corridor. Bellamy turns and runs in the opposite direction, leaving me and Echo standing in a large corridor. The brunette pulling on my hand focuses my attention back to reality,
"Kyara! Come on. Lets go."

We both run further into the corridor for another five or so minutes Echo infront of me, leading the way. She comes to a stop about ten feet imfront of me and looks down, i could barely hear her over the roaring of the water.
"We have to jump!" She shouts in my ear, taking a hold on my hand. I remember leaping of the edge and the ripping my hand out of Echo's. But i dont remember hitting the water or swimming out to safety.

I feel myself coughing violently and i feel someones hand on my torso. Turning over i see Echo lying next to me panting.
"You alright?" She asks, trying to catch her breath.
"Did, did you pull me out?" I ask a cough infiltrating my sentence. The girl nods,
"You blacked out. I had too."
"Seriously; I blacked out?" I laugh, getting up from the sand. I offer Echo a hand and i pull her up,
"Come on." I heave, " lets get out of here."

Sorry this chapters a bit crap. i had writers block and i couldn't remember everything that happened in Mt Weather, so i just made it up. Anyway, keep reading!
