Chapter 12- The Survivors

Ravens head is resting in Echo's arms, i push my hand onto the wound on her legs. Stopping her from bleeding out.
"Hey!" I shout to the people crowding around the exit, " has anyone got a jacket or something i can use?"
A small boy hesitantly walks towards me and hands me a scarf, " that's perfect. Thank you." I turn back to the girl lying on the grass and tie the scarf just above her wound, using it as a tourniquet.
"Okay," i say to Echo breathlessly, "she'll be okay." I think this comment was more reassuring myself than the brunette, but i couldnt let on. Echo moves Raven's head onto the grass and moves over to sit next to me.
" you do a good job." She says placing a hand on my shoulder, i nod,
"I s'pose so, im just worried." I sigh,  "Clarke, Octavia, Bellamy. None of them have come out yet."
"They're alive. I promise you." The brunette comforts squeezing my shoulder.
"I hope to god your right."

Myself, Echo and the survivors of Mt Weather all sit along the treeline maybe 20 feet or so away from the door. Someone who escaped mentioned Clarke telling them to stay back once they were out. Because this person mentioned Clarke, i naturally decided to interigate them with questions. Which then made the person get scared; cower away. And then Echo had to drag me off, i was pissed at the boy. Surely i wasnt that scary; was i?

Someone down the line shouted, and suddenly everyone was up on their feet and pointing at the door. I saw a blonde figure running at full speed in our direction. Followed by a slightly slower male figure. As they got closer i realised they were telling us to run, to get as far away as possible. I screamed to the people along the treeline to run and all of them did, i looked down at Raven lying on the floor, picked her up and swung her over my shoulder. (this sounds so strange; but i had no other way to describe it 😭💀)
Once everyone was safely under the trees coverage the two people caught up to us, one of them was Harper, a girl from the dropship, and the slightly slower male was the annoying guy who Bellamy called Jasper. If im being honest he looked pissed.
"What the hell happened?" I asked Harper, the girl bent over and placed her hands on her knees, catching her breath.
"Clarke told us to get out." She replied through ragged breaths, "she went a different way. She said mumbled something about making sure Bellamy is out. Where is he?"
My face drops, " Bellamys not here. I thought he was still inside."
The girl shakes her head," no, Clarkes positive he made it out ."
"Well if he did he's not here..." My voice got cut off by and extremley large bang coming from the mountain, the vibrations off it were immense and it shook the ground even back where we were standing.
Myself, Echo and Harper make our way to the edge of the forest, the entire place we were stood only 10 minutes before was up in smoke. I look towards Echo and her face has visibly dropped, i sigh.
"Holy shit."

I turn back and start walking towards the group, Harper follows and starts talking about needing to find Clarke.
"Guys! Look!" Echo shouts, the brunette was still stood at the edge of the forest. I turn around to see two figures stumbling out of the fog, i recognised one of them straight away as Octavia. And i was hoping the other one was her brother.
I start to speed walk in the direction of Octavia, and in the end im full on sprinting towards the girl. Octavia, being a bit further ahead of the other person, threw herself at me in a hug. I stood hugging the younger girl until my eyes caught someone else behind her. I let go of O and ran up to the guy jumping into his arms, he wrapped his arms around me tightly and rests his head on top of mine.
"Hey Ky." He laughs.
I release the boy from my grasp and look up at him.
"Don't do that to us Bell, we all thought you were dead." I sigh.
"Well im pleased to inform you that i am very much not dead." The boy laughs, " seriously though, im okay."
I nod and laugh slightly, " come on." I say turning to Octavia, " the people are waiting in the woods."
Bellamy and Octavia follow me to where everyone else is waiting. Bellamy barks some orders at the people and within minutes they're practically in straight line ready to go. Im the time i was gone Raven had woken up, and although she was weak she could walk, kinda. I put an arm around the girl waist and helped her along, just like i did with Echo in the mountains. Bellamy and O begin leading the people down the mountain and back to where, hopefully, Clarke was waiting.

Turns out she was, the blonde was waiting for us at the pool where myself and Echo jumped. She was still soaked from the water, but we were all safe for now. When we l arrived at where camp used to be, many people stopped in their tracks, eyes focused on the many skeletons lying outside the dropship. Everything was gone, everything we tried so hard to build, burned to crisp. People began dissipating until only Myself, Bell, O, Clarke and Raven were standing in the circle. Echo was stood there too, but due to the constant stares she was gaining from people she moved closer to me and ended up almost  standing behind me.

"What are we going to do?" Clarke sighs, " there's nothing left here." The blonde kicks a pile of ash and a bone roles out of it, on instinct she pulled her foot backwards quickly. She contorts her face weirdly and then lets out a small laugh,
"How the hell are we still alive?" She asks,
"Because we actually want to live, we have a plan and were not just doing 'whatever the hell we want'. " I say switching my eyeline between Clarke and Bellamy.
"That's my line." Bellamy smirks,
"Yeah, i know." I sigh, " back when life was simpler, and none of us had to fight for survival."
My small speech, if you can call it that, gained some smiles off people in the circle.
Echo tapped my shoulder from the side of me,
"Grounders." She whispered in my ear, careful not to let any of the others know. And true enough we had atleast 7 arrows pointed on us, everyone in the circle put their hand up in a surrender as a Trikru scout jumped down from the trees. He cleared his throat to let us know he was there, when everyone spun around to face him he began to speak.
"Our Commander has ordered that you meet with her in Polis tomorrow, because of the little stunt that was pulled involving our warriors."
"Your commander, has ordered to meet us." Clarke asks confused, the scout nods,
"Only the ones involved with the plan though, we don't need anyone who didn't have any say in it." Clarke doesn't speak back to the scout, so i decide to speak up.
"Okay, that's fine. We will send some people to meet your Heda tomorrow." I say, Echo smirks at me. The scout looks at me confused,
"You know Trigedasleng?" He asks.
"A little." I smirk, sneakily looking over towards Echo. The scout nods and disappears through the trees, Bellamy, Raven and Clarkes eyes are all stuck on me. They all looked impressed but like they could kill me as well, i shrug and walk of deeper into the forest. I hear footsteps jog to catch up to me and then Echo's face appears at the side of me.
"Emo're counting ona yu, you get in dei dey ait?" She says, i turn my head to face her.
"Yeah. I know." I sigh.

Chapter 12 done! The Trigedasleng near the end is roughly translated to " they're counting on you, you know that right?" I thought it would be nice to have Echo teach Kyara some Trigedasleng. When writing this chapter i had these 5 songs playing on repeat, and it really helped to to get over my mental block.
