"Shh, come in quick!" I whisper-yelled as Ron slipped into my room after classes had finished for the day.
"You're acting like people are actually in the hallway," he grinned, rolling his eyes as he shut the door behind him. "We don't have to sneak around if there's no one around."
"I'm just being cautious," I defended myself. "Unlike some people."
"I mean I'm not complaining," Ron shot back, slowly stepping toward me with a knowing smirk on his face. "Sneaking around is hot."
He lifted his hand and lightly brushed the bottom of my jaw, lifting my head towards him. Our eyes met as he slowly leaned in and kissed me.
He pulled back a moment after, his eyes still locked on mine. "You're getting pretty good at this," he laughed breathily. "You must have a good teacher."
Knock knock knock.
The both of us jumped at the sudden sound and whipped our heads toward the door.
"Y/n? Are you in there?" It was Lavender.
"Oh my god," was all I could say as I looked at Ron with a desperate expression.
"Bloody hell," Ron whispered under his breath.
"What do we do?" I cried as Ron looked around frantically for somewhere to hide. "She can't see you."
"I can hear you," Lavender shot from the hallway.
Ron shot me one last panicked look before he slinked down to the ground and slid under the bed.
That's the worst possible hiding place he could've picked.
"This is urgent. I'm coming in," Lavender declared, and the mere sound of her twisting the door knob making my stomach churn.
"Hi," I said once she appeared in the doorway with a confused expression.
"Hi..." she trailed off skeptically, eyeing me while I smiled at her from my bed.
"Why didn't you answer when I knocked?" she asked, every step she took toward the bed making my heart beat louder.
"You knocked?" I asked obliviously. "Sorry. I was... taking a nap."
She rolled her eyes and sat down next to me. "I should've guessed."
"So what's urgent?" I asked, eager to get her talking so she would leave faster. Of course, on any other occasion, I'd be glad to have her stay in my room and hangout. When Ron is hiding from her under my bed, I'm not so excited to have her over.
"You know how Ron rejected me because he said he liked someone else?"
Oh god.
"Yes," I answered immediately, my heart quickening it's pace.
"Well," she began, taking a deep breath. "I think I know who it is."
She knows.
The nervous flip my stomach did was becoming second nature at this point.
She knows.
How does she know?
"Really?" I squeaked, not helping myself seem innocent.
"Yes," she groaned, the corners of her mouth turning down into a frown.
"Who?" If she was going to call me out like this and be mad, it'd be best to get it over with.
"Hermione."
I felt the bed shake softly from Ron's escaped laughter underneath us.
"She's the only person I can think of that makes sense," she continued explaining. "And I think they're secretly dating."
