"What kind of favor?" Ron spat, standing up now so that he was eye level with Draco. "What could you possibly want from us?"
Draco's eyes darted between the two of us, his smug expression turning more guilty before he responded. "You can't tell anyone you saw me up here," he snapped, his glare now fixating on Ron. "Especially not Potter."
"Why not?" Ron challenged him. "What's so secretive about you being here?"
"None of your business," Draco snarled, looking at me now. "So do you agree or not?"
I cut Ron off just as opened his mouth to object. "Yes, we agree." I couldn't take any chances of Lavender finding out about me and Ron from Draco. That would only make everything worse.
"Good," Draco replied, glancing over us up and down as his gaze fell on the picnic blanket. "By the way, what a pathetic little date this was," he quipped before pushing by us and bumping Ron in the shoulder on his way out.
Ron and I both turned to watch him exit, his robe swinging side to side as he sauntered out. "What a pathetic little git," Ron shook his head.
"At least we know he won't tell anyone," I sighed. "He really didn't want anyone knowing we saw him here either."
"Guess not," Ron shrugged. "I wonder why?"
"No idea."

The next day, I sat across from Lavender at lunch while she rambled on about Merlin knows what. It was hard to focus on what she was saying; Ron was sitting right behind her in my line of sight.
"So what do you think?" she asked suddenly, snapping me back into reality.
"What?" I asked, bringing my attention back to her.
"Y/n, are you even listening to me?" she snapped, narrowing her eyes at me. "It's like you've been on another planet these past few days."
"Sorry, sorry," I muttered as I shook my head slowly. "What were you saying?"
"I was asking what you thought about Ron and Hermione," she answered, nodding her head behind her in the direction of where the two of them were sitting. "You didn't seem to have much of an opinion last night."
"Oh," I replied, nodding along like I had been following her before. "Well I think as long as they're happy it's fine—"
"Except they're keeping it a secret," she interrupted. "There has to be a reason why."
"Maybe they just want to keep it private for right now," I offered, shrugging. "You know, before anyone forms a real opinion on the two of them together."
"That's lame," she responded with a disgusted look on her face. "I think they just don't want me to find out."
My stomach flipped and I tried to hide the laugh that came out of my mouth. Her repeatedly telling me how she felt about Ron dating someone else just proved my point of not wanting to share our relationship with anyone just yet.
"You know, since Ron rejected me and said he likes someone else. They obviously don't want me to hate Hermione now."
She turned her head over her shoulder to look at the two of them, and lucky enough for me, Ron was already smiling right back.
Once he saw Lavender's eyes on him, he quickly looked away, engaging in a conversation with Hermione.
"See?" she asked, rolling her eyes as she spun around to face me again. "It's like they're obsessed with me finding out. Ron was already looking over here."
