Chapter 5: New Home

I expected that this was his room. It looked regal. Most of everything in his room was gold and red. I saw Urey and Snieg. Urey came over to Prince Ivan. I expected Snieg to be laying down. I walked over to her and kneel down. "I see that your doing well," I said. I pet her head. She wagged her tail. Her leg was still bandaged up.

I saw Prince Ivan kneel down on one leg and pet Snieg near her hind leg. I could tell that he cared for her. After we spent time with Snieg, we sat in the chairs near his window. "Why did you come to this kingdom?" he asked. I came to work here and possibly live here long term," I said. "What about your parents?" he asked. "They don't care about me. They are total strangers to me," I said. I sip my tea. I saw him pet Urey on the head. Urey's head was on his lap.

"Where do you plan to stay," he asked. {I guess he heard about the fire.} "I plan to find a place that is a bit cheaper than the one I used to stay in. First, I need to find a better job since my license was terminated," I said to him. He looked at me. "You will stay here. You won't need to work." he said. I was confused. "Huh?" "You will stay here at the fortress. I already arranged for you to stay here. I had Mikhail to inform your manager at the cafe about you quitting," he said.

I couldn't believe that he had his butler to tell the cafe that I quit. "What will I be doing here then?" I asked. "Nothing. You just have to stay here and be comfortable," he said. I couldn't say anything else. I was speechless. "Um...ok....," I said.

We had every meal together in the dining hall. I was quiet though. I didn't know how to act around him. He looked serious and cold in a way. After our meals, I would go to my room and look through the clothes in the drawers. I found some that didn't fit me. I made a pile of clothes so that I could tell someone to take them away later.

It was nighttime. I was looking through some news articles about the fire. Also, I looked through articles about my family. Father had found a cure for a disease while mom was becoming a sensation. My brother, Brent, was becoming a top lawyer. If they only knew that their own daughter almost died a day ago.

Knock...Knock....

I heard knocking from my door. I walked to the door and Mikhail was outside. "I am to inform you that we will be going to a ball tomorrow night at Nobel Michel. You will have a fitting tomorrow," he said. I nodded my head. I closed he door and leaned against it. {A ball!!! What am I going to do!!!!} I just got here yesterday and now I had a ball to worry about.

Next day....

Prince Ivan, Mikhail, and I were on our way to Nobel Michel for a ball. I didn't know the reason for the ball though. I sat quietly in my seat until we arrived. We arrived before nightfall and I was wiped away to a guest room.

It was almost time for the ball, I went through ten different dresses with a designer. I didn't like some of the designs. I found one that I thought was my look. I wore a light purple dress with silver shoes. I painted my nails light purple to match my dress. I put my hair up in a bun. A lady in waiting came and did my make up. She did a good job. I still looked natural.

I went out of my room to be met by Mikhail. He gave me a smile. "Prince Ivan is waiting for you at the ballroom," he said. "Ok..." I said nervously. We walked through the hall. I was so nervous. I didn't know what to think. We stopped in front of a big door that led to the ballroom. He gave me a smile and opened the door for me.
