Chapter 11: Come Back

One week later.....

It has been a week since I left Sanct Sybil. I started a new life for myself. The vet clinic let me work at the front table. I only received calls and schedule appointments. I was living in a studio that my old nanny was managing. She let me stay rent free. I was grateful for her. They understood why I left the kingdom. I haven't read any news about my disappearance. I guess that they didn't want bad publicity.

It was a Monday morning. I had a fever. I called my boss to let him know that I wouldn't be coming to work today. He understood and hope for me to get better. I had some soup and hot tea. I took some medication and fell asleep. I woke up and it was the afternoon. I took my temperature. My fever had gotten a bit worse.

Knock...Knock....

I heard knocking from my door. I wore my robe and walked to the door. My head was pounding. I opened the door to see a familiar face. "Prince Ivan" I said quietly. He looked at me with his arm crossed. He had a suit. "Come in," I said. He walked inside. I walked to the bed and sat down. I sat in a chair. "What are you doing here...cough cough," I said. I felt my head pounding more harder. I held my head.

I saw prince Ivan's eyes open wide. "Are you alright," he said. He sounded worried. He came over to me and put his hand on my forehead. "You have a high fever," he said. My vision was getting blurry. I could see him making a phone call. I felt myself falling. "Beverly!" I blacked out.

I woke up to see that it was the afternoon. I felt something on my forehead. I reached up and felt a wet towel. I heard the door open and close. I saw Prince Ivan and Mikhail walked towards me. "Prince Ivan took my hand in his hand. He took his other hand and removed the towel to feel my forehead. "Your fever went down. How are you feeling?" he asked. "Tired," I said. He nodded his head. He turned to Mikhail.

"Heat some soup. she needs to eat," he said. Mikhail walked to the kitchen. Prince Ivan turned to me. "Why are you here?" I asked weakly. "When I came back to the fortress, Snieg was whining more than usual. She ran to your door. I opened your door and found that you weren't there. I looked around and saw that some of your things were missing. I guessed that you left. I asked the lady in waitings and they didn't know where you went. I talked with a driver and he told me where you went. That is why I came," he said. I saw him blush a bit. "I was worried," he said. I could tell that he meant it. "I'm sorry," I said. His eyes widen in shock. His eyes turned back to normal after a while. He nodded his head.

Mikhail came back with a bowl of soup. I tried to sit up but, I was so weak. Prince Ivan saw me struggle and helped me sit up. He told the bowl and spoon fed me. After I had my bowl of soup, he gave me some medicine. I started to feel drowsy. Prince Ivan helped me lay down and pulled the blanket up to my shoulder. "Go to sleep," he said. He pat my chest. It was comforting. I felt myself all into a deep sleep.

I woke up the next morning. I saw Prince Ivan looking at me. {Did he stay up all night?} He felt my forehead. "Your fever has went down," he said. I nodded my head. He took my hand in his hand. "Please come home with me," he said. {He wants me back.} He was worried enough to come all the way from his kingdom for me. {May be he does have some feelings for me.} I nodded my head.

He took a box out with the ring in it. He stepped the ring on my hand. "We will go home at night when we are sure that you fever is down," he said. I nodded my head. I knew he didn't want to take chances of me getting worse. He gave me a small smile and rubbed my hand.

{He does care for me.}
