Chapter 15
I woke for the first time in a long time, with a grin sprawled across my face. I was actually excited to get ready and head off to school. I even sang in the shower; laughing at the off tune sound of my voice echoing and bouncing off the blue tiled walls. My mother had even noticed when I came downstairs. I was humming while eating her pancakes and she had decided to veto sugar. She asked me about it; I shook her off and told her it was nothing. It was far from it. I took a large bite of the last pancake. It was so good, sprinkled with strawberries and Canadian Maple Syrup. My morning was perfect.
I walked to the front door and stood in front of its head mirror. I pulled the elastic out of my hair, letting it fall to my shoulders and down my back instead of slinging on my back like a horse's tail. I sucked in a happy breath and opened the door.
Surprise hit me square in the jaw. Leo's car was parked outside my house. He was casually (and sexily might I add) leaning against the hood of his car. Was he, dare I say it, waiting for me? I didn't have to ask, because the minute he saw me exit my house, he pushed himself off the hood and smiled.
"Ready to go?" he asked as he walked around the car to open the passenger's seat. I smiled. This was so unexpected. I voiced my thought and he smiled. "I just thought we should carpool every morning. Save the earth and all." I nodded and got into the car.

The ride was great. We talked about nothing and laughed about nothing. I couldn't stop smiling.
The trouble started when Leo pulled up in the school parking lot. I knew there was trouble the minute I saw Ashley. She was standing with a couple of her droids wearing a pink mini-skirt, heals, a white button down top that accentuated her overbearing chest and large hoop earrings. Her eyes were already giving me the deadliest of stares when Leo parked. I hadn't even got out of the car yet.
She was rapidly approaching and I knew I was in for a very rude conversation. I started grazing the parking lot for a familiar face I could call to my rescue, but there was no one.
"Hey baby," she smiled putting a sloppy kiss on Leo's lips. She then turned to me, un happy. "Hey Pam!"
I internally growled. My name wasn't that difficult, especially since Ashley and I had gone to elementary school together and that this year we share quite a few classes together. "It's Sam actually."
She pretended to look embarrassed. "I'm so sorry dear." She wasn't and I knew it. Anyone who had witnessed this would have known that, except for Leo of course; since he was oblivious to everything that had to do with Ashley.
My shinning knight then came through. Robbie came up behind me placing his arm around my waist. "Sam, Billy and I came to get you this morning but your mom said you had already left." I could see Ashley eyeing Robbie's arm around me. I smirked at her and then turned to face Robbie, keeping his arm wrapped around me.
"Oh I didn't know," I acted a little bit, I must say. "Leo was so kind to offer a carpooling system. I really didn't expect you guys to come get me."
I couldn't see the bitch's face, but I knew they were piercing me with thousands of deadly knives. Ashley liked the fact that people wanted what she had, her boobs, her legs, her clothes, her car, her boyfriend... the minute someone has something that they consider better or just as good as what she has; she gets extremely jealous. I wouldn't be surprised if she hit on Robbie the next time I wasn't around.
Robbie smiled down at me and turned to Leo, lightly hitting him on the shoulder. It wasn't hard or anything it was a tap, one a friend would give another. "I really appreciate it, mate." I sighed. That was hot. Most guys wouldn't react that way, they would make a sly comment about how they would be there the next morning to get them instead of the other guy or hit him. I've seen Animal Channel, males can be ferocious at times.
"Any time," he smiled. Ashley made a small almost unperceivable noise which made Leo turn his head away from us and to her. I was trying to hold in the laughter the was beginning to erupt inside me. Robbie must have sensed it because he said our goodbyes to the two and pulled gently towards the school.
Oh I could get used to this...
