Five: Meet Gen Shishio, Half Ayakashi

Lily walked into school late in the afternoon a couple weeks later, waving towards everyone, and then she felt an evil presence in the air. She stopped moving seeing a boy walking by her, staring at her from the corner of his eye. Lily stopped and looked back seeing him continue to walk. Lily’s eyes widen and she began to get curious and followed him silently.

‘Something about this boy, it freaks me out…’ Lily thought, and continued following him. Lily trotted behind him quickly and hid behind the wall, watching him closely. ‘I feel an evil presence coming from him…what could he be?’

Yoshimori ran after the boy who slashed the wall where his Shikigami were, attacked the –weird– English teacher and no was headed somewhere else. What about Lily, where was she!? His eyes widen when he saw the boy jumping and grabbed his Shikigami, he turned to Yoshimori, glaring.

“Too slow,” The boy said, clenching his fists tightly crushing his Shikigami with ease. Yoshimori kept his eyes wide as he watched the boy jump away.

“What!?” shouted Yoshimori as he took a step forward. “Wait!” He put two fingers in front of him and jumped in the air yelling “Ketsu!” each time.

The boy turned back seeing Yoshimori keeping up, ‘So he’s been keeping up so far…alright then!’

He turned and stepped quickly launching himself at Yoshimori, Yoshimori’s eyes widen and he jumped up barely dodging and back-flipped away and landed on the ground sliding against it.

“What the–” Yoshimori yelled out, “You…ACK!” Yoshimori blocked the attack from the boy, Yoshimori tried using Ketsu on him but was stopped by the boy kicking him in the ribs, and away from him.

“What, your close combat skills aren’t enough?” The boy asked, “Aren’t you relying on your Kekkai? The speed wasn’t that fast either.”

Lily had found him once again, she found Tokine and they ran together. They slid to a stop when they saw the boy slice through Yoshimori’s Kekkai, Lily’s eyes widen in shock.

“Urakai enforcement squad -- Night Troops, Gen Shishio” Gen introduced, and Lily felt her head pound once and her right eye closed in pain, “I was dispatched here to protect Karasumori and to aid the legitimate successor.”

Yoshimori’s eyes widen; “Are you really that man’s brother?”

“What!?” yelled a questioning duo – Yoshimori and Lily,

“Urakai…enforcement squad?” confirmed Lily, hearing right. She took a step forward and continued speaking, “Who are you and what are you talking about? Explain!”

Gen turned to her, keeping his stoic exterior as he thought; ‘So, I finally found the last heir to the deceased clan, Lily-Iris Sumimura no… Yamato, long time no see…’ “I really don’t know that much, the enemies force is growing. Right now, large groups of Ayakashi are after this land. Soon, the Kekkaishi alone will not be enough, that’s why…”

“Wait!” Yoshimori interrupted him; Gen opened his eyes to see him standing up quickly. “So who are these Ayakashi?”

“I don’t know. It’s under investigation.” Gen answered, “However, we do know that the group is in a state of observation of our situation here. They won’t suddenly attack any time soon but… With the legitimate heir in this state, the day isn’t too far off!”

Lily’s eyes widen again, “Because you were the man’s younger brother, I had expected more from you”

‘Masamori, he…he’s behind this!?’ Lily thought.
