-Investigation-

“There,” Bracken said as he pointed out a parking spot to Warren. He pulled in and put the car in park. “So, you’re telling me, a knight of the dawn saw Kendra in a bar for magical creatures, confronted her, and now he’s in the hospital?” Seth asked as they all got out of the car.
“Yes, well, he was in the hospital, they let him go, he’s going to meet us at the bar he saw Kendra in,” Warren said, coming around the front of the car and onto the sidewalk.
“Okay, but she was in a bar? She’s only eighteen,” Seth asked.
“I know it seems a little far off, but this guy seems pretty sure it was her,”
“Okay, well, let’s go find this guy,” Seth said.

After a few minutes of walking, they made it to an alleyway, where a tall man in a suit was waiting for them, Bracken noticed the man had quite a few bandages on his face, and his arm was in a sling, “Hey, are you, Adam?” Warren asked as they drew near, “Yeah, that’s me. Are you here about the girl?” Adam said, turning towards them. “Kendra Sorenson, yeah. I’m Warren, this is Bracken, and this is Seth, Kendra’s brother.” Warren said,
“Did she do that to you?” Seth asked, pointing at the man’s arm, “Yeah, your sister can handle herself. She could have probably fought everybody in that bar if she had to.” Adam said as he started to lead them to a hidden door. The first three of their group went inside, but Bracken stopped when something shiny caught his eye. He looked down to find a necklace on the ground. He picked it up, sensing magic in it. Could it be Kendra’s? He thought. Deciding to find out later, Bracken picked up a few small stones, then headed inside.
“Where did you go?” Warren said when Bracken caught up with him.
“I’ll tell you later, come on,” Bracken said, going over to where Seth stood with Adam.
“She was sitting at that table over there, and that’s the one she threw me in to,” Adam said. Bracken couldn’t help but notice Seth’s slight smirk at the thought of Kendra throwing this tall man around the room. Bracken also found the thought slightly amusing but worried about why she was now so willing to hurt people. “Does this place have cameras we could look at?” Bracken asked since it was probably better to not reveal he could just read Adam’s mind to see the whole event. “You’d have to ask the staff, but they probably do,” Adam said.
“I’ll go ask,” Warren said, heading over to the bar, a few seconds later he waved them over as a bartender took a key from under the counter. “This way, the security room is in the back.” She said, leading them to a back room, “Have at, don’t break anything.” The bartender said, eyeing Seth, probably guessing he was too young to be in a bar. “What time did you get here last night?” Warren asked Adam as he sat down in the chair. “Probably eightish Kendra got here after me,”
“Okay,” Warren said, somehow knowing exactly how to use the system. “There you are, now we wait for Kendra to show up.”
It was probably ten minutes of watching before an elegant young woman walked in the door. It was Kendra she looked older, but not just that, there was something else too, Bracken just couldn’t place it.
“That’s here,” Bracken said pointing at the screen.
“She looks,” Seth started, but he didn’t seem to know what to say.
“Yeah, I know,” Bracken replied.
“Who’s that she’s with?” Warren asked.
“They’re a satyr who comes here almost every night. I think they pass information to your girl as well as other people.” Adam replied,
“Wait, I think I saw them sitting down when we came in,” Seth said.
“Let’s go have a chat with them then,” Warren said, getting up and heading out and Adam followed. Bracken and Seth waited a few more seconds, still watching Kendra on the screen. They got to the part where she threw Adam around. To be fair, he did grab her first, “Wow, she didn’t know how to do that last time we saw her,” Seth said.
“It would seem she’s learned a few things over the years. Come on, let’s go talk to this satyr.” Bracken said, leading Seth out of the room.

When Bracken and Seth got to the table Warren and Abam were at, Warren was talking to the satyr, “You were here last night with a girl, do you remember her?” Warren asked,
“Yeah, she’s one of my clients. I gather information for her, What’s your name? I don’t like talking to people whose name’s I don’t know.” the satyr said.
“I’m Warren, who are you?”
“Gal, who are your friends there?”
“They’re not important, I need to know everything you know about that girl,”
“I’m not telling you anything, you want to know something ask her yourself,”
“Then tell me where to find her.” After that Gal just sat there, with their arms across their chest. Without warning, Warren sat up from his chair and grabbed Gal by their shirt, “Tell me where she is!” Warren yelled. That’s when Bracken decided to step in, “Warren, threatening them will do nothing. Let me talk to them.”
“Are you serious?” Waren asked, turning to Bracken. He was about to say something else when Bracken grabbed his arm, Let me poke through their head, we’ll find her Bracken said. telepathically. Warren nodded slightly and let Bracken step in front of him. “Sorry about that, my friend can get a little fired up,” Bracken was vaguely aware of Gal’s answer, but he was more focused on their memories of Kendra. Most of them were of Gal giving her information on certain topics, but then Bracken got to their memories of last night, what he found shocked him. “She goes by the name Lena Chase here, she has an apartment in town, but she said she was leaving town after last night. That was hours ago she might not still be here, we should move fast.” Bracken said standing up and heading for the exit. “Wait, what? How’d you know all that?” Gal said as their group left the bar. “Hey, I’m glad I was able to help but, I have my mission to get back to so, I’ll be leaving now,” Adam said when they reached the street. “Right, of course, we should be fine now. Thank you for your help,” Bracken said, heading towards the car. “Hold up, what’s going on?” Seth asked, “Just get in the car. I’ll tell you in there,” Bracken said.

“Okay, we’re in the car, now what?” Warren said as he locked the doors.
“Last night Gal gave Kendra a very important piece of information, Ronodin is still alive and I”m guessing Kendra is going after him, he’s in Italy,” Bracken said, waiting to get Seth and Warren’s reactions.
“But I thought Kendra killed Ronodin three years ago,”
“His body wasn’t in the clearing when we woke up, maybe he survived. He’s good at that,” Seth said.
“Okay, wow. Well, we need a plan. Did you happen to see where Kendra’s apartment is?” Warren asked, Bracken nodded in response. “Okay, well there’s a higher chance she’s at the airport. So I’ll drop you two off there and I’ll go check out her apartment, see if she left anything behind.”
“Sounds good to me,” Seth said.
“I also found something outside the bar,” Bracken said taking the necklace and stones out of his pocket, “This necklace was on the ground, I feel magic inside of it and I’m pretty sure it’s Kendra’s,”
“Why do you think it’s Kendra’s?” Warren asked.
“It’s a unicorn,” Bracken said, handing the necklace to Warren.
“And what are those stones for?” Seth asked,
“This,” Bracken said, taking a second to turn them is to telepathy communicators, “In case we get separated, we can use these to talk to each other,” Bracken handed both of them a stone.
“Sounds good,” Warren said, and with that, Warren started the car and started towards the airport.
