Seth watched in amazement as his sister healed Bracken, he had never seen magic like this before. But something seemed to go wrong with the spell because a pulse of energy sent Kendra flying back. “Kendra!” Bracken and Seth yelled at the same time. Now completely healed, Bracken stood up and ran to Kendra with Seth right behind him. But for some reason, there seemed to be an invisible wall in between them and Kendra. Then she shot up wide awake, looking confused as she stood up, then recognition seemed to dawn on her when she looked at Seth and Bracken. “Oh, it seems little Kendra messed with too much dark magic,” Kendra said, her voice with a sharper edge to it that Seth wasn’t used to. “Kendra? What happened?” Bracken asked, looking just as confused as Seth was.
“Oh, loverboy, I’m not Kendra. Your girlfriend is on a vacation. But I would be more than glad to fill in if you wanted. Though, I suppose I don’t have a name of my own, so Kendra should do.”
“Who are you?” Seth asked, not understanding anything.
“From what I’ve gathered the few times I’ve able to come out and play, people who are fairykind aren’t supposed to mess with dark magic, purity, and all that fun stuff. And poor little Kendra was so sad about losing her one true love and her little brother that she decided that’s exactly what she was going to do. Of course, she didn’t know that would create me. I guess all the magic she’s done today mixed with the overload in sappy emotions was too much for her to handle, that’s when I get to take over. But this time I have more control, you see, I made sure that if she ever used that necklace, it would give me full control. So now she’s the one stuck in the dark.”
“Give her back!” Warren said, coming up from behind them.
“Warren, I’m so glad you could join us. Are you sure you want Kendra back? She hasn’t been very nice to you lately,”
“Oh, yeah, because you seem like so much more fun. I’ve been looking for Kendra for three years I’m not going to give up just because she didn’t a heart to heart. Or because she has an evil double.”
“Well, it seems you guys need some time to take all of this in before we can do game night, so I’ll just head out,”
“Wait you’re not going anywhere-” Bracken started to say, but somehow Kendra disappeared into a black void that showed up behind her out of nowhere.
“Well, that went well,” Warren said, turning around and kicked the wall, cursing under his breath. Seth felt like doing to same but with a lot louder volume. Bracken looked like he wanted to do the same. “What are we going to do about this?” Seth asked, knowing there would be no answer.
“We need to know more about this kind of magic,” Bracken said, with a sign.
“Yeah, but when it comes to dark magic Seth only knows shadow charmer magic, it’s not like we have anybody on hand to ask about this kind of stuff,” Warren said, turning around from the wall he was abusing. Then, at that moment, a very bad idea popped into Seth’s head,
“He might know something,” Seth said, turning to where Ronodin still sat unconscious.
“Really? Why does your brain work like that?” Warren asked.
“Seth, he killed both of us,” Bracken added.
“Kendra already did the hard part for us. We just have to move him.” Seth tried hopping this idea wasn’t going to lead to another brush with death, because he had no deal with the sisters to save him this time. Or, maybe he did, it’s not like he could remember.
“Okay, let’s do it,’ Bracken said.
“Dude, really?” Warren asked in disbelief.
“It looked like Kendra had used light, and dark magic, who else knows about that then a dark unicorn.”
