Nico POV

It had been three days since Nico’s “incident”, and yet he couldn’t get it out of his mind. Every time he closed his eyes, he imagined Will’s bright blue ones, staring back at him. He felt his warmth from his embrace every time he lay in bed. Just the thought of it made Nico shiver to his core.

Hazel had moved in on Tuesday, and wouldn’t stop fawning over him until he gave a believable eplantation about getting lost, and Solace helping him get to class. She bought it, but still shot him worried glances.

Right now, it was Friday and Nico was getting his stuff to get to Latin class.

“Hey, Neeks,” a familiar voice called, walking up to him. Nico felt his face flush at the sound of Will Solace’s voice. Ever since he’d helped him with his little breakdown, Will saw himself as Nico’s friend/protector/doctor.

Not a joke.

P.E.? When they had to climb the walls, and Nico fell down from the top, Will went into full panic mode. He had dragged Nico down to the infirmary and tended to the bruises forming in his legs and arms. People had given them weird looks, which Nico had glared murderously at, causing them to then look away.

See? It all works out in the end.

“Solace,” Nico nodded, grabbing his things and closing the locker. “I really hate that nickname.”

“Well too bad, Neeks,” the blonde teased, “I really love it.”

Nico’s English had gradually gotten better throughout the week, with Will tutoring him during study hall, Nico had found English notas unbearable as before.

“Whatever, Solace,” Nico had especially taken a liking American slang. It came in handy when snapping back at annoyingly cute perky blondes. “Let’s get to class.”

Will POV

“Can someone tell me the twelve Olympians and their Roman counterparts?” Mr. Brunner, their Latin teacher asked.

Immediately, Annabeth’s hand shot up in the air with a determined look on her face. It was both intelligent, and terrifying.

“Go ahead, Annabeth.”

“Zeus, or Jupiter. Poseidon or Neptune. Hera or Juno. Demeter or Ceres. Athena or Minerva. Artemis or Diana. Apollo who is the same as both Greek and Roman. Ares or Mars. Hephaestus or Vulcan. Aphrodite or Venus. Hermes or Mercury. And Dionysus or Bacchus.” She proclaimed proudly. How she remembered all that, Will would never know.

“Very good Annabeth. Now, will someone else give me the Greek and Roman names of some other gods?” Mr. Brunner asked, scanning the class with a twinkle in his eyes. “Will?”

Will gulped as he racked his brain for something that wasn’t medical related. “Uh, wasn’t Hades’ Roman form Pluto?” Will guessed.

“Yes, ten points to Gryffindor,” the teacher teased, before going into some deep lecture about some god banging some mortal women. Probably Zeus. or Apollo. Or both.

“How does Annabeth know so much?” Nico whispered from his seat beside him at their shared table.

“No clue, but that’s why she and Percy go so well together,” Will explained,trying to keep a straight face, “His boneheaded-ness balances out her brainiac-ness.”

Nico chuckled lightly, a sound that was angelic to Will’s ears. “Those aren’t words, Solace,” Nico smiled.

Now, Will had heard other kids talking about how creepy Nico was. Or how gothy and depressed he acted. Will just didn’t see it. Nico was too much of a cutie to be creepy. He just looked so innocent and fluffy all the time. Even when he got frustrated, like when they were practicing a word he couldn’t pronounce. His eyebrows would scrunch up, and his lip would jut out making the cutest pout in the history of pouts.

Of course he never said that outloud.

He simply waited until he got home to squeal in his pillow. Obviously.

“If I say them, it makes them words. Otherwise, what would they be?”

“One, that’s not how it works. Two, it makes them annoying noises that come out of your mouth,” Nico shot back, not even trying to hide his growing smile.

“Mr. Solace, Mr. di Angelo? Did you have something to say?” Mr. Brunner asked, not in a “oh, you're in so much trouble” way, but a “what are you talking about, also I ship you” sort of way. Their teacher was like that.

Nico blushed a furious shade of crimson and mumbled, “Nothing, sir.”

Mr. Brunner smiled mischievously and continued the lesson.

~~~~~ Time Skip ~~~~~
After school was over, Will and Nico met the rest of their friends outside of the school. They stood quite close together, and Will longed to hold the other boy’s hand, but restrained himself.
“So guys,” Percy started, his trouble-maker lopsided smile in full view. “Tomorrow is going to be the perfect day to go to the beach. I mean, it’s not going to be so hot that the sand will burn your feet off, but the water won’t be so called that it will give you frostbite.”
“Sure Percy. Even if the water was freezing you’d still get in,” Grover said, chuckling.
“Well I know that,” Percy said in a “duh” tone. “But you weaklings can’t handle it, so, unfortunately I have to hold back my utter awesomeness for you.”
Everyone laughed as Annabeth slapped him upside the head. “Whatever, seaweed brain, whatever helps you sleep at night,” She sighed. “But he is right, tomorrow will be a good day to go swimming.”
“So, is everyone in?” Jason asked the group, who all nodded in response.
“Then it’s settled! Saturday is beach day!” Percy exclaimed, evilly rubbing his hands together. “Everyone bring your floaties and snorkels, because I’m going to dominate all the splash fights!”
