Shoto stood speechless outside of his bedroom, servants and knights alike filtered in and out of his room like working ants to the call of Izuku.

He exchanged a glance with his own guard, Tenya clearly not in the know.

Slowly, hesitantly almost, Shoto managed to squeeze his way into his room, eyes blowing wide at how vastly different it was.

"Oh my God! Shoto, you're back!" Izuku's trill from across the room snagged the Prince's attention. Izuku clapped, standing on the chaise. "Good timing! We're wrapping up now!"

"What is going on in here?"

"I wanted to surprise you!" Izuku hopped down from the chaise and rushed over, taking Shoto's hand with the brightest of grins on his face. You were gone for two days so I took the opportunity to decorate your room like we talked about! Everyone was all for it and super excited! Look, doesn't it look great!" Izuku bounced on the balls of his feet and looked around, veridian eyes glimmering.

Shoto was wordless. Mind blank and unsure how to process everything. He looked around his room.

The wall his hearth was embedded in had been painted a dark navy blue, similar to the cloak and vest he wore. Paintings hung on his walls now. None with any particular meaning, but they softened the room. The curtains billowing in the breeze were dark blue, gold and white, all his furniture shifted to give the illusion of a larger space. His bed covers were a matching blue with gold and white pillows.

"You hate it..."

He snapped his head back to the Omega beside him. "What?"

"You hate it, don't you..?" Izuku bit his lip, quickly starting to draw back into himself. "I-I should have asked you first- I'm so, so sorry, I just-"

"Hey, hey!" Shoto grabbed Izuku's face and- without thinking- planted a firm kiss to his lips. "No, I- I love it! A lot... It looks great, really."

"Really..?" Izuku whimpered, placing his hands over the Prince's.

Shoto chuckled lowly and rested his forehead against Izuku's. "Yes... Really. Thank you."

The last of the maids bowed before she left and Tenya shut the door, leaving the two alone.

"The bed looks pretty comfortable."

Izuku lit right back up, curls bouncing a top his head and he pulled the Prince along with him. He giggled, flopping onto the oversized bed, purring loudly.

Shoto smiled fondly and sat beside him. "You really have great taste," he mused.

The Omega's eyes sparkled as he looked up to him. "Really? You think so?"

"Know so," Shoto whispered, leaning over to press a kiss to Izuku's temple before shifting the lay beside him. "Won't your heat be starting soon..?"

Izuku sighed and nodded. "Yeah. In the next week or so... Will... Your father want you to spend it with me..?"

Shoto hummed, watching Izuku. "Most likely... However, he's also leaving with Keigo around that time, so... I likely won't have to."

The Omega hummed softly, fingers toying with the duvet. He then perked up and Shoto knew he had an idea.

"What about then?" Izuku asked, rolling onto his stomach to prop his elbows up and set his chin on the heels of his hands.

Shoto furrowed his brows, confused for a moment before realizing what Izuku meant. His heart throbbed painfully. "Oh... I don't know, Izuku. You'll be in heat."

"Right..." Izuku sighed, face now set in a cute little pout.

"I'm sorry," Shoto murmured, looking up to the ceiling. "I know you're looking forward to your freedom... We just... Have to be smart about it."

Izuku nodded and muttered his agreement.

They lay in silence for a while, Shoto's mind slowly returning to the very dark place it once used to be. Before Izuku brightened his life.

He didn't want this to end. He wanted to keep Izuku close. Breathe in his minty, heavenly scent everyday. He already felt like he wasn't with the Omega enough.

Shoto snapped out of his trance as Izuku curled up, nestling into his side. The greenette rubbed his cheek into Shoto's shoulder, his scent steadily filling the room.

The Prince sighed and relaxed, turning to pull Izuku into his arms. "I'm sorry... I normally have better control of my scent than that..."

"What's wrong..? Why are you upset..?" Izuku looked up, allowing himself to be embraced as he reached up go cup Shoto's face in his hands.

Shoto breathed deeply, closing his eyes. "I just... Am sad to see you go," he admitted, rubbing Izuku's waist. "I'll have no one to complain about my father to once you leave."

The greenette giggled, cheeks filling with pink. "He is the worst."

"Yeah..." Shoto smiled and kissed Izuku's forehead. "But, we'll figure something out... I'll get you away from here... Somewhere safe, I swear..."
