Chapter 24

Rishi's pov:

Soon we arrived at the hospital and we took her inside immediately. I texted Shreya and aunty before itself so they will come at any moment.

We took her straight to the ICU ward and nurse changed her dress. So we went out, I washed my hand and scrubbed myself. Rahul came beside me and started washing his hand. I stopped him.

"Rahul, back off. You are not in a good state to treat her now" I said looking at him.

"But I can't stand here without knowing anything" he said politely. He look scared.

"Fine, come and stand quietly. You don't have to do anything" I said ending the discussion. He didn't say anything and followed me silently. We entered the room again. She was in a hospital dress.

"She got so many bruises on her legs" nurse said once we reached her. I nodded simply and checked her vitals. We started her fluids.

"Ask Leela to come here faster" I said to the nurse. She is a gyneo in this hospital. I really don't want to see the bruises on her legs with Rahul beside me. He was at the verge of breaking down already.

Leela ran inside and looked at me.

"She is pregnant. I want you to check the baby condition" I said while she moved towards her.

She pulled her top up and rubbed a gell on her stomach after putting gloves in her hand. She quickly did an echo on her stomach and observed the screen for few minutes before switching off the machine.

"She is six weeks pregnant. The baby is fine but doesn't look healthy. She needs lot of vitamins and iron foods and multiple strong antibiotic and steroid shots so call me once she wakes up. As of now, continue her fluids and keep her hydrated" she said relaxing us.

Rahul stared at her in disappointment. She is pregnant for more than one month but still she didn't say anything to him.

I thanked her and she went out. I went to get her blood sample and noticed that her veins are already poked many times.

"What does that mean?" Rahul asked me noticing her hand. I shook my head.

"Not sure but they would have drugged her" I said inserting the needle on her already bruised arm.

After collecting the blood sample, I gave it to the nurse to take that to lab and get the result sooner.

"Rahul, come with me" I pulled him with me and went outside. I want to distract him. We saw Shreya and aunty. Shreya ran to me immediately crying.

"What.. What happened?" she asked me. Rahul sat in the chair silently.

"She is stable and the baby is fine. We just have to wait till she wakes up and get her blood result" I said slowly.

"Can I see her? Please" she asked like begging me.

"No" I said sternly because I know about her. She won't stop crying if she see her in that condition. She fumed in anger. Aunty was silent and sad.

I went inside silently leaving Rahul outside and asked the nurse to show her leg injuries. She pulled a blanket over her before pulling her pants down. I was shocked to see her tiny white skin turned purple all the way. I sighed.

"Apply ointment and see if there are any cut on her skin" I quickly said and moved out.

I called the inspector and informed him about her condition. Then I sat beside Rahul. My parents came rushing and enquired about her health.

After few hours, we got her blood result and observed it. Surely she was being drugged many times. Other than that, she look fine. Still we don't know about her full condition so we waited.
