Chapter 33

Rithika's pov:

A month passed taking care of myself at home. Each day passed like Rahul and Rishi always scolding us to eat well and take tablets properly. 

They both went to another state for some medical conference along with few doctors for three days. They didn't want to leave us here alone. Mom and dad also went to their native for some function.

They warned and advised us both to take care of our health before leaving. Luckily we passed two days here alone.

On the third day, I was just browsing few things in my laptop. Shreya called my name continuously so I went out to her room. She was crying holding her hands at her forehead.

"What happened?" I asked sitting beside her. She hugged me immediately and cried.

"It's bleeding. I....I jumped lightly" she whispered slowly.

"Is it flowing continuously?" I asked further.

"No, I saw 4 to 5 drops spotted" she replied.

"Okay, don't worry. Blood spotting is normal in pregnancy. I'll call Rahul now" I said and tried calling him but he didn't attended. I tried Rishi also but the same reply.

Shreya ran again to the washroom and I waited for her. She came after few minutes with scared face.

"I think it's in abortion. 2 drops now" she said and sat there silently. It even sent a shiver to my body.

I called to the hospital and asked about Lee. The nurse said that she also went to the conference. 

I sighed and asked her about other gynecologists. She replied with three male doctors name. At that time, I couldn't think of anything and fixed an appointment with the one.

"Come, let's check and come" I pulled her.

"No, we will wait till tomorrow" she replied at the verge of crying again.

"Idiot, you gill get infection if something happens now. Just we will check" I replied. 

I slowly took her to the hospital and went inside that doctor's cabin. I never seen him before here. He might be 35+. I have also searched few information about him while driving. He is a trustworthy person.

"Good afternoon, what happened?" he asked softly.

"Hi, her name is Shreya and she is 2 month pregnant. Doctor Lee is her gyn but it seems that she is not here. Actually, she spotted blood 6 to 7 drops so we thought to contact you" I replied boldly.

"Do you have any pain in your stomach or pelvic?" he asked her. She shook her head silently.

"Actually, some women may experience fake period but sometimes it's not. Maybe she is close to abortion or she might have some bacterial infections or cervical problems. We can only tell it by few examinations. With ultrasound we can't say much" he said. 

I know what he means but Shreya won't agree for this. We also can't wait for one day to know about this. If it is a abortion, she can't handle at home. 

"If you are okay with internal examination, we can proceed further or I will prescribe few tablets" he stated. Shreya's eyes went wide and looked at me.

"Yeah, carry on doctor. I will talk to her" I said to him. He went outside to give us a minute.

"Rithika, what are you doing? From a male? I don't want this pelvic examination. If Rishi know about this, he'll kill me." she argued.

"Don't think about him now. Think about your child now. Even if something is wrong, the doctor may treat it quickly. It will just take ten minutes" I said. Somewhat she wants to know the reason but she feels uncomfortable about the situation.

The doctor came in with a nurse. She handled a gown to her. She shook her head at me slowly. I sighed and nodded my head to continue.

She reluctantly went inside. I followed her but the nurse stopped me.

"No one is allowed inside mam" she replied. I turned to the doctor.

"I want to be with her. She won't be comfortable around you" I replied and he nodded his head.

She already changed her dress and gown barely touched her knee.

"Rithu please, I'm not okay with this. Take me home please" she pleaded. She is very shy and sensitive compared to me.

"Shh relax Shreya. I'm with you so don't worry. Just think about your baby and lie down" I said. She didn't seem convinced but yet lied down simply.

The doctor came inside with a nurse. He washed his hands and put gloves on it.

"Just be relax and trust me. I won't hurt you and I promise I'll do it very gently" he said to her face and she nodded at him. I held her hand for support.

The nurse checked her bp which obviously will be high. She covered her body with a sheet below her waist. 

"Bend your knees and place your feet in the footrests. Also, Relax" he said to her. She did it slowly. He moved the two footrests wide and sat in between her legs.

Shreya closed her eyes tightly. He took a pencil like metal and adjusted the sheet to her knee level.

"It will be little cold" he said and bend towards her level. She hissed immediately and held my hands tighter than before.

"Relax your body and tell me if something hurts you" he said. I could see what he is doing. He then held a speculum which I have watched in movies and inserted in her vagina. 

She immediately held a slow scream and a tear fell down from her eyes. He did something for two minutes and removed it. 

"I'm just going to insert my finger, just be relax" he said making her stress. She shook her head at me with glistening eyes. I assured her that she will be okay.

He inserted his two fingers making her eyes tear more. She hissed in pain holding my hands tightly.

"Over, over" he said and pulled his hands out. He stood up and removed the gloves. He then did ultrasound and looked at it.

"Baby, don't cry. Nothing is important here" I whispered in her ears. 

"The baby is safe and she has a mild infection. And the bleeding is normal. I suggest two injections for her infection and will prescribe few tablets. The nurse will give it. Take it and come out" he said and moved out.

Somewhat it sent a relief to both of us. The nurse prepared the injections. Shreya layed there simply imagining something.

"Turn to that side mam" the nurse said and she did. She pulled the sheet up and pulled her gown up above her hip. I held her hand again.

She wiped the portion of her hip and grabbed a flesh of her skin and slowly inserted the needle straightly. She winced and pressed my hand hard.

The nurse pushed the liquid inside and Shreya screamed lightly.

"Ouch, it's paining" she said controlling her body.

"It's intramuscular mam, adjust for few minutes" she said while pulling the needle out. She prepared another in less time.

"Can you handle it in the same side mam?" she asked holding the wipe and the needle.

"Is this also painful like before" she asked. The nurse looked at me and nodded her head.

"Shreya, turn that side" I said to her. "Oh, God" she sighed and turned towards the opposite side.

She quickly injected it causing her to scream more this time. She did it and moved out.

"Rithu please rub it" she sounded in so much pain.

"No No mam. You can't rub now. Rub it with ice after an hour" she protested. Shreya sighed slowly waking up from the bed. 

She put her dress again and we both went out.

The doctor gave the prescription and we both moved out grabbing the medicines.

She slept after reaching home. I rubbed her hips with ice cubes while she was sleeping.

My little princess has endured much today. I asked her to not tell this to Rahul and Rishi as they will freak out. I thought to tell them after they reach here. I don't know what their reactions will be.
