Finding Out

Terry rushed into the waiting room carrying a giant gift basket. "Sorry I'm late Captain; interrogation went longer than expected. How's Jake doing?"

"Peralta will make a full recovery. Santiago has been with him all night. Boyle just took her a cup of coffee. He should be back soon; hopefully with another update," Holt answered.

"Sergeant!" Gina called across the room.

"Yes Gina?" he answered, looking up from his newly found seat, beside Rosa.

"What's in the basket?"

"Oh my wife made it," he answered, setting it down, beside him. "It has all five Diehard movies, Safe House, and a bunch of other movies for him to watch, while he's off from work,"

"That's nice. He'll like that," Rosa said, patting Terry on the arm.

A few minutes later, Amy came into the room. "Hey everyone. Jake's ready for visitors," she said, smiling. She would rather be with Jake, but Charles asked for a few minutes alone with Jake.

**in Jake's room**

"So what did you wanna to talk to me about?" Jake asked, full of curiosity.

"You were dead," Charles rushed out.

"Yes. I was. I was told, but thanks for reminding me."

"No, I mean you were dead. You were dead, so you don't know what happened."

"Amy told me what happened."

"Well she didn't tell you everything."

"What are you talking about Charles?"

"When I found Amy, she was sobbing and screaming through her gag. She was leaning all the way forward, yanking on her handcuffs. That's why her wrists were cut. As soon as I removed the gag, she was screaming at me to call for an ambulance and untie her. As soon as she was free, she ran straight to you. Before I even knew that you had been shot, Amy was next to you, using her jacket to try to stop the bleeding. When I started putting pressure on the wound so that she didn't have to she started screaming again."

"Why was she screaming again?"

"She was talking to you. She was saying that you had to be okay, because you were supposed to end up with her."

"Really?" Jake sounded slightly shocked, but happy. Charles nodded, "Well thanks for telling me."

"No problem Jakey."
