"Together, together
Together, everyone
Together, together, come on
Let's have some fun."

As intermission ends, the audience returns to their seats for the finale. The curtains open revealing all the seniors, lined up. Each senior was wearing their cap and gown, slightly swaying to the music as Ms. Darbus announces them.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Our seniors! Kelsi Nielsen, the Juilliard School Scholarship Recipient. Music." Kelsey grins excitedly while everyone claps for her. Y/N and Taylor cheer excitedly. "Jason Cross. You did it. You graduated." Jason smiles as he hugs Zeke.

"Whoo hoo hoo!"

"Taylor McKessie, Yale University, with honors, Political Science." Taylor steps forward, smiling as Y/N cheers for her best friend. "And I am pleased to announce that due to the excellence displayed here this evening, the Juilliard School has made an extraordinary decision." Y/N looks at Troy who stares straight ahead, understanding he may have received it. "Another senior is being offered a Juilliard scholarship. Congratulations, Mr. Ryan Evans, Choreography." Ryan's parents cheer for them while his twin claps, proud for her brother. "And congratulations, Miss Sharpay Evans. University of Albuquerque, Performing Arts. Miss Evans has agreed to return to East High next fall to assist me in running the Drama Department." Sharpay steps forward, tipping her cap revealing her initials bedazzled on top in pink and white gems. "And now a senior who I believe has a decision to make. Mr. Troy Bolton. Troy."

Troy steps forward, holding onto Y/N's hand as he speaks. "I've chosen basketball. But I've also chosen theater. The University of California, Berkeley, offers me both. That's where I'm going to be attending next fall. But most of all, I choose the person who inspires my heart. Which is why I picked a school that's exactly 32.7..." Troy glances over his shoulder at Y/N who smiles at him with tears in her eyes, "miles from you. Miss Y/N Montez, Stanford University, Pre-Law."

Using their intertwined hands, Troy pulls Y/N next to him as he steps back, allowing her to smile and wave.

"Next, Mr. Chad Danforth. University of Albuquerque, Basketball Scholarship!" Ms. Darbus announces as Y/N steps back. She looks over seeing the space Chad occupied, was empty.

Taylor moves closer to Troy, whispering. "He's gone."

"Mr. Danforth." Ms. Darbus calls again. Troy runs off stage knowing where his friend is.

Stepping into the gym, Troy stands by the doors as he watches Chad dribble the ball. Chad shots causing Troy to step forward.

"He goes up for the shot and it's good!" Troy screams, causing Chad to look over. "East High Wildcat victory for the record books!"

Chad shakes his head at his friend. "Once they hand us that diploma, we're done here?"

"What makes you think we're getting diplomas?"

"One question: does Berkeley play?" Chad asks.

"Oh, yeah. We're scheduled to kick some Redhawk butt next November."

"Game on, Hoops." Chad smirks grabbing the basketball as it rolls over to him.

"Yeah."

"Oh! One more steal." Chad shouts as he dribbles by Troy, "The final point."

The two mess around as Mr. Bolton walks in. Troy takes a shot just as Coach yells, "Danforth! Bolton! You get out there and you get onstage!"

"I never thought I'd hear my dad say that." Troy mutters to Chad, before the two run past him.

..................................................

The day every senior waits for has arrived for the senior of East High. On the football field, the seniors were dressed in either red or white as they listen to Troy.

"East High is a place where teachers encouraged us to break the status quo." Troy starts, glancing at Ms. Darbus. "And define ourselves as we choose. Where a jock can cook up a mean crème brûlée." Zeke laughs as Troy points at him. "And the brainiac can break down on the dance floor." Martha stands up, dancing a little causing everyone to laugh. "It's a place where one person...if it's the right person...changes us all." Y/N smiles, blushing as Troy stares at her. Sharpay nudges her causing Y/N to laugh. "East High is about having friends that we'll keep for the rest of our lives. And I guess that means we really are all in this together. Because once a Wildcat...always a Wildcat."

The class cheers as Troy steps of the podium. He shakes the principal's hand before walking off. "Thank you! Thank you, sir. Thank you very much."

The graduates all cheer as they run to the open field. They celebrate with their friends, laughing and cheering. The way the graduates stand causes a wildcats to be formed by their hats and gowns. The graduates cheer as they throw their caps high in the air, as the band begins to play.

"Looking forward from center stage
to graduation day
Time to get the future started
What we leave what we take
with us no matter what
It's something we're a part of
we learned to fly
Together side by side
I just hope the rest of my life
Will feel as good as my
High School Musical."  Troy and Y/N sing as they dance together.

"Who says we have to let it go?
It's the best part we've ever known
Step into the future
But hold on to
High School Musical
Let's celebrate where we come from
The friends who've been there
all along, just like
A High School Musical.

"Improvisation without
a script, no one's written it
And now we have the chance to
But some day we'll be looking back
memories we'll have
All the songs that we lived through
The best of times
So why leave them behind
Why can't the rest of my life
Be like my
High School Musical?" Sharpay and Ryan sing.

"Who says we have to let it go?
It's the best part we've ever known
Step into the future
But hold on to
High School Musical
Let's celebrate where we come from
The friends who've been there
all along, that's right.

"Now we finally realize
Who we are
It just took some time
We had to live
and to learn to see the truth
Learn to see the truth
That nothing's ever impossible
into the future we all free fall
But forever
we'll always have high school." Chad and Taylor sings as each graduate line up in two line side by side, to create a wave.

"Time to party now
Celebrate
Because the world's one big stage
Any part you want can be yours
Everybody sing
But the show is never going to close
It's what got us here, we know
High school lives on forever more
High School
High School Musical
High School Musical.

"Who says we have to let it go?
It's the best part we've ever known
Step into the future, but hold on to
High School Musical
Let's celebrate where we come from
Celebrate
The friends who've
been there all along
Oh, yeah
I wish my life could be like a
High School Musical.

"Who says we have to let it go?
It's the best part we've ever known
Step into the future but hold on to
High School Musical
Let's celebrate where we come from
All together
Makes it better
Memories that last forever
I want the rest of my life
to feel just like a
High School Musical
High School Musical."

As the group of six skip ahead of their class, they all hands as a big red curtain closes behind them. They all smile at each other as the remember how they all met, the sacrifices, the hard times that brought them to this moment.

Y/N smiles. Who knew that when her sixteen year old self walked through East High's doors, amazing people would be there, waiting for her.
