Training 101

The ground around Kosuke was covered in ice, his legs remained hip length, he turned to face Lauren, her face surprised. "I want to see you try," he said in a calm voice, Lauren attempted the same thing, slamming her foot to the ground, nothing happened, "Is there anything I did wrong?" she asked concerned. Kosuke walked over to her, "You're just forgetting to put your heart and soul into it," Lauren looked at him, "Do you mean figuratively?" Kosuke chuckled, "Yes, as in your passion, like cooking or baking, it's not good or effective without putting any love into it, do you get me?" Lauren nodded, she thought for a long minute, "Alright, lets try again," Kosuke backed up from Lauren as she closed her eyes. 

In her head, images of her parents appeared, the smiles on their faces as she grew up, her mother's sweet, nursing expression as she softly cresses Lauren's cheek. Her mind was not present when her leg lifted and her foot slammed on the ground again, she opened her eyes to find the grass frozen around her, it was only a couple of feet around her body. She looked up at Kosuke, he clapped his hands, "You are quite a fast learner, aren't you?" Lauren did not reply. Kosuke kept his mouth shut, Lauren examined the frost, she looked confused and spun around in a circle, reminding Kosuke of the time Hachiro was learning magic. Suddenly, Lauren leapt in the air screaming, "I just did some magic, I'm a mage!!!!" she continued to jump and screaming into her hands, Kosuke was surprised of how proud Lauren is of her second attempt.

"Hey!! How's it going?" Galaxia asked, hopping her way to Lauren, Kosuke crossed his arms, "I see you have been paying Lauren a lot of visits while we're training. Why is that so?" He asked giving Galaxia a curious look. Galaxia answered, "I just want to check and see she is not killing you," Lauren gave the frog a dirty look, "Awe, you don't want to admit you care about her!!" Kosuke teased, placing his over his chest, Lauren giggled. Galaxia glanced at Kosuke, "You have to find my weakness Kosuke?" she hopped over to Lauren, "How are you doing?" Galaxia asked, patting Lauren's leg. Lauren picked up her companion and placed her right on her left shoulder, "I am doing good, how about you?" Galaxia settled on Lauren's shoulder, "I am also doing good, thank you for asking." Kosuke called out, "Now, are we ready for some more practice?" Lauren and Galaxia nodded, Lauren began stomping her feet some more, the frost began to spread little by little, Lauren thought, "This will be worth the trouble."
