Shout out to WhiteArrow! Go follow my first commenter! Unfortunately I'm not aware of his/her (I'm just gonna say her) real name.
So ill start off with some backround info. WhiteArrow (FOLLOW HER BEFORE U KEEP READING) and her horse Cracker Jack (13.8 hand liver roan) were competing in North Carolina. Cracker Jack (or CJ) never had any problems with jumping.
That's all I know :)
It's always bad luck when you fall off at a show. I wouldn't really know what that feels like (I think I've mentioned that I have little show experience) but I've heard that you don't exactly get 1st place if you fall off.
WhiteArrow approached a jump, underestimating its size (due to those devilish flowers that I know everybody hates). What she thought was an easy 18 incher was actually *uh oh* a 2.3.
Think about that for a little bit.
Just let an image process in your mind.
Yeah, I would have fallen off too.
So this horse, CJ, definitely knew what size the jump was. And he wasn't backing down, no sir. So CJ sped up a few strides before the jump. WA slowed him down a bit, totally oblivious to the Empire State Building that was looming ahead of her. CJ slows down and...
*dramatic pause*
WhiteArrow completes the course with flying colors, not missing a beat. She wins 1st place and goes home happy.
The End.
Jk
What would I be doing here if this wasn't a tragic fall story. This is how it REALLY went.
After CJ slowed down, he shot over the jump, totally leaving WA behind as if she were a kid in Walmart with a first time parent. WA, and I quote, "Slides backwards off his back and lands on her butt."
Before I tell you the next part, I just want to ask why horses insist on jumping even after their rider has fallen off. I would have stopped and laid down.
Well yes, CJ keeps on jumping the next couple of jumps, totally into it.
GO FOLLOW @WhiteArrow
Neither WhiteArrow or Cracker Jack were hurt as far as I know.
