⭐️Chapter 10: Sinking Sands? Make A Plan!

"Okay, so how are we gonna hide Bird from...the rest of society?" Jack asked.

The Infernos and the Thistlins were now at a table by a café by the turfing bus stops, talking amongst each other. Now that more people were involved, they planned on working together and keeping this a definite secret from others. The more people that knew about this, the worse.

"More importantly, how are we going to stop those scientists if they show up? We don't know what kind of tech they have!" Ryn exclaimed.

"We made a plan...but goodness are we bad at this!" Silvia laughed.

"Well, what had you all come up with so far?" Glade asked. "Couldn't be that bad, right? Especially since you guys beat that ice spirit and helped out a whole kingdom!"

"Well yes, but...basically if those scientists show up we disarm them and get them captured!" Cosmo replied. "Or run away, but I prefer the one before!"

"Hm. You don't have any sort of...complex idea, do you?" Sai sighed. "No specific routine?"

"That's what we're working on right now!" Ryn said. "And since you guys are involved, you can make it all the more better!"

"Oh yeah, you bet we will!" Clara replied with a smile. "As long as your new friend here is okay with that, and if they're a good guy."

"Yeah, I'm okay with it. I'm good, I promise!" Bird said.

"Now then. If we see a scientist around here or they happen to barge in like the Frost Army did, we need a group of people to tell authorities while the other takes them on," Sai stated.

"I wanted to go straight to "beating them up" though..." Glade mumbled.

"Well we'll still need fighters. We just need them later," Jack said.

"Are we on a sort of time limit?" Ella asked nervously. "I never liked those..."

"Not entirely, but...we don't know if and/or when these scientists will come, so the sooner the better," Silvia replied.

"Gotcha."

"Does Bird have any powers of her own?" Sai asked. "You're talking about scientists, so...you never know"

"No, I don't. I don't know how to use a turf weapon either, so I guess I can't defend myself," Bird replied sadly.

"Well that's okay! That's what friends are for!" Cosmo said happily.

"You guys really DO get into quite a lot of messes, don't ya?" Clara joked.

"We really do...and now that I've experienced so much, I wish I could just stay out of it," Ryn sighed.

"I get what ya mean...you guys really do deserve a break," Glade said. "I know I'd be stressed if it was up to me to save people I cared about."

"Yeah, I wish we could predict when the next crazy adventure would happen," Cosmo responded.

"Wait, you guys have gone on multiple adventures?" Bird asked, now VERY interested.

"Well...I don't know if we can call that whole ice adventure ONE thing..." Ryn replied nervously.

"There was that time I met Cosmo and brought him up here..." Jack added.

"Yeah, you and the other weird person!" Cosmo chirped.

"What? What person?"

"Oh...never mind..."

"I had my adventures with...my past team," Silvia said. "We don't really talk about them though, they've gone on to do other things."

"Wow!! That's all really cool!" Bird happily exclaimed. "You'll have to tell me what I missed!"

"Maybe, maybe," Ryn said. "But for now we should re-focus on our task. We have an idea of what to do, but...there are still possible situations that might arise that thwart our plans, and we need to be prepared."

"Right...there might not be authorities to report to, they could be somewhere else or the scientists might think ahead!" Ella added.

"In that case, it's entirely up to us to capture these guys and put them in some place sturdy and well-made until the authorities get back," Glade responded.

"Actually, where would that even be? I don't know where the jail is around here...." Jack asked.

"Oh, I'm sure we can find it on our phones!" Clara replied.

"We should probably find the location now just in case our phones die later or something," Sai suggested.

"Oh true, good idea."

And so the whole group looked up the jail because they never knew who would need it first. The table was silent, though the area around them was still buzzing with the chatter of many other species. Once they'd located it, they found that it actually wasn't too far. They figured that they could probably make it over there if they took on the scientists around the forest outskirts and then brought them back in.

"Alright, now that we have THAT settled, what ELSE do we need to figure out?" Ryn asked.

"Probably escape routes, which might be hard considering that the scientists could close in on us from the forest," Sai replied.

"Oh yeah, true. Well there's always the front gate, but why even bother taking the obvious route?" Glade asked.

"Mhm. It's not like we can super jump over them or something...the forest area isn't really well mapped out either," Jack replied. "So once we're in there, we might as well be lost and at the mercy of those scientists."

"There has to be another way!" Bird exclaimed.

Silvia leaned back against the chair she was sitting on, rubbing her chin and deep in thought. She didn't like letting others down unless they deserved it, and this was certainly a situation that did NOT deserve it.

"Well...let's see."

The talk continued to go on, and everyone got along very well. Eventually the group got up and left the café area (after making sure everyone who bought something had paid and nobody was forgetting anything), and decided to walk towards the bus stops and "lobby" for turf. Suggestions and ideas continued to be passed, with more added on or thoughts being rejected by other points about the situation.

"Huh, maybe getting you guys involved wasn't such a bad idea after all..." Ryn said.

"Anything for good guys like you all! Hopefully our parents won't give us a hard time with this if we have to explain it..." Glade replied.

Clara nodded her head in agreement.

"Yeah, and don't you worry about that Ryn, because we'll-!"

"Well, well, well, who's this noob that joined your wimpy little team?"

The Infernos and the Thistlins turned around at the sound of that voice. After all, they knew it all too well.

It was the Wave Crashers.
