The Hateful Hike

You take a deep breath and move forward.

As you step forward, the world begins to turn a strange color. The grass begins to bleed color, the sky turns purple, and everything becomes momentarily distorted. Your friends take a few steps before they begin to feel sick.

"Did I do something wrong?"

"I told you not to overdo it!" Fiddle scolds.

"We should just stop here." Oki says.

"No, I want to keep going."

"Well, if you're sure..." Fiddle says doubtfully.

You don't stop, and the strange effect grows stronger. Your friends begin to vomit and groan, falling to the ground. You stop and shrink to the ground. You hug your knees and begin to cry.

"I don't want to go home."

You stand and continue walking. The strange effect continues to happens around you, and your friends' bodies continue to be vulnerable to it. You look around at the strange land and see something glowing in front of you.

You look where Fiddle is pointing and see a strange building in the distance. It's a lot larger than any building you've ever seen, and it's made of a metal which seems to be glowing inwards.

"Is this the destination?"

"No. This is just one of the many gather points for those entering the Dreamlands. We're still a ways off from our final destination."

"Oh."

"What can I do to help you guys feel better?"

"You could try not distracting us with your useless chatter."

"What can I do to help!"

"Could you shut up for once? I asked Oki a question!"

You ignore them and walk faster. You come to the front of the building and reach out to touch it. As your hand touches the metal, a bright light flashes before your eyes and you are sent into a waking dream. You fall to the ground. Your friends run up to you.

"Are you alright?"

"It doesn't matter. Are you guys ok?"

"Yeah."

"We're fine." Fiddle says.

You pick yourself up and stare at the building in front of you.

"Let's just walk around it."

"Alright," Fiddle says, "we need to be careful though. We don't know what's in there."

You nod and walk around the building. You walk for hours before finding a sign. You read the sign, but it seems to be in a different language. You sigh in frustration and fall to the ground to read it. The sign reads:

Welcome to the Nightmare Throne Room! Please wait to be called to enter the throne room.

Please leave all weapons outside before entering.
