Trust me, the story only gets better from here

"I'm guessing this was after the King was murdered?"

"Yes! We had just found out and the whole town was in shock! Everyone was looking for the murderer, but I thought there was more to it than that!"

He continues.

"I know there is more to that. The rest of the townsfolk think I murdered him!"

"Well, I guess that makes sense. I mean, after all, you did know him pretty well.

"But I loved him! He was my father. We had the best times together."

You begin to cry as you recall happier times with him.

"I loved him so much, but I can't live in this town with him dead. He wouldn't want me to dishonor his memory like that. And this town. This town is crazy. Nobody knows anything and that's why they are scared."

You cry for a few minutes, but eventually stop.

"I'm sorry." you apologize.

"I'm so sorry. I wasn't a very good princess."

"But you are a smart one. You made a smart decision."

You wipe your eyes and finally see hope. A real chance at a new life.

"I want to help you guys. I really do. What can I do to help"

The sheriff pulls a large book outshot his pocket. It's the very same one you were given when you arrived here!

"What's that?"

"Well, it's a list of all the Pokémon in these woods. We go out looking for Pokémon occasionally to try and rid the woods of them. You can help us look, if you'd like."

"Pokémon?!"

"Have you every seen a Growlithe?"(I had to look it up)

"Yeah, the campfire had one there."

"Perfect! I need someone to go capture it."

"Me? What makes you think I can catch it?"

"You have twice the speed and three times the strength as a regular person."

"Wow."

"We'll pick you up later."

"Ok!"

The sheriff turns and leaves.

"Later."

You quickly rush to the your room, but he's already gone.

"Ah, I have to wake up at dawn." you think as you fall asleep.

You wake up to the sound of a heavy thump.

You jump up in bed in surprise. The sun is already high in the sky. You quickly get up and change into a green dress. You wore a ribbon in your hair to help you look like a princess. You walk around your room, grabbing the important things and shoving them into a backpack. You grab your prized possessions, a small stuffed owl and your princess dress that your mother sewed for you. If you're going to leave the castle, you need to do it now or be caught.

You walk back into the Wizards chamber and climb down the stairs. You walk up to the black cat's cage. He is up and moving around. You throw a big fish in front of it.

The black cat catches it mid-air and swallows it instantly, as if it was a steak.

"Now that you are fed, do you think you can give me a ride?"

The cat stares at you for a moment then nods.

You climb onto the back of the Cat and wrap your arms around his body. He leads you outside of the castle and over to the stables.

"Thank you!"

"Woof." The cat responds as he leads you out the castle gates.

You walk around the city a bit, searching for the sheriff. Eventually you find him at the Sheriff's desk, reading a map.

"Hey!"

He looks up and gives you a wide grin.

"Well if it isn't the Most Devoted Princess!" he smiles.

"Uh, hey..." you feebly respond.
