Humming pleasantly, the man stumbled towards an idyllic town. The vivid green grass swayed gently in the summer breeze, just like the man as he neared the buildings. With slow, heavy steps, he reached the ruins of a burnt building. Ash still covered the floor and soot-stained the walls. The kitchen was intact, but not much else. Everything was gone. Rounding a corner, he saw something - a piece of glass. He reached to pick it up.
Echoes of the past reverberated through the air, causing the man to shiver.
Not again, anything but that!
With hurried, clumsy steps he tried to run away. He hurried towards the town, only to stop as he realised that he was right back where he was; the house.
He flinched as he heard light footsteps getting louder and louder. "Please, stay away."
Flickers of memories emerged; memories of blood, of death and a cold, judging eye. "I'll do anything please."
The man stopped as he felt a freezing hand land on his shoulder. With slow, jerky motions, he turned to face the thing; the personification of madness.
"Now, now, we never said you could return, did we?"
