"Stay a little longer please,"

"Alright petal, 5 more minutes okay?" Heeseung whispered softly towards the snoozing girl.

Entangled in each other's arms that Sunday morning, Heeseung hummed a soft tune as he admired the smaller girl laid beside him. It was moments like that where he wished he could live a normal life again yet, he was stuck in the path he chose for himself.

Not that he was complaining, Heeseung loved his job. Now that he knew his hard work and efforts paid off as the result of successfully debuting with ENHYPEN, he wouldn't trade it for anything else. However, there are times where he'd trade it just so he could spend more time with the girl he dearly loved.

"Come on Misun, I gotta get to the airport soon," Heeseung muttered softly as he faced his lover's gloomy morning face.

Fluttering her eyes open, a tear escaped Misun's eye as she stared longingly at Heeseung. She was proud of how successful he had become and she loved seeing him thrive. Yes, she had her own life as a working student and drowned herself in work whenever she missed him.

But the moment she's surrounded by the warmth of his embrace is when she succumbed to her inner clinginess for Heeseung. Watching him leave every time just made her miss him even more. In fact, it hurt her.

"How long will I have to wait again Hee?" Misun asked sadly as she nuzzled her head against his chest.

"I don't know petal, they won't tell us the schedule,"

Glancing down at his girlfriend, Heeseung couldn't even fathom how torn she felt at the uncertainty of it all. He desperately wanted to tell her that he wouldn't be gone for too long, he wanted to tell her that he'd be back soon.

Yet he himself had no idea how long promotions overseas would take.

Getting up sullenly from his bed, Misun tiredly grabbed one of Heeseung's many hoodies over her shivering body. Wiping away her moist, tear-stained cheeks, a pair of arms encircled around her lovingly.

"I'm sorry Misun, you know I hate to give you up and I know I'm never home enough but please remember I'll always love you," Heeseung said, his voice muffled as he buried his head into the crook of her shoulder.

"It's hard to believe that Hee. Come on, you'll be late,"

Biting down on her quivering lip to prevent herself from bursting into tears, Misun gently pushed Heeseung away before leaving the room.

"Time to go Heeseung," Jungwon called out from the van, making sure to greet Misun beforehand.

Facing his girlfriend with a heavy heart, Heeseung gently pulled Misun close to him before placing his lips against hers longingly. Allowing their tears to fall in that moment did they realise how their future was always uncertain—that time was never in their side.

"I guess I'll see you when I see you," Misun muttered softly after pulling away.

"See you petal, please trust me when I tell you that I love you,"

As she watched the boy she loved dearly walk away from her, she couldn't bring herself to trust him enough at that moment. She only hoped and prayed that she would fully trust in him soon enough.

;; February 2021

A whole month had passed and Heeseung had yet to return. Although he updated her frequently, his phone was always confiscated whenever he tried to reach out to her. Given their time zones, it was nearly impossible to get ahold of each other.

It was Valentine's Week and there was no doubt both Heeseung and Misun were flooded with endless dinner invites by people who took interest in them. As Heeseung was a public figure, their relationship was forced to be kept away from the horrors of the media.

Though there were many attractive and alluring invites that were deemed tempting, both Heeseung and Misun could only politely reject such people. For they only had space for each other in their hearts.

An epiphany was what blessed the pair of lovers; that they were more than just a couple who filled each other's empty voids, that they were more than the distance that separated them.

Because despite all the lonely days and nights, their love for each other was still real and alive.

It was only proven true on the 14th of February at 2:30AM, when the sound of desperate knocking was heard from Misun's apartment door.

Of course, the 20 year-old girl was still wide awake for she was missing Heeseung more than usual. Trudging her tired body away from the comfort of her bed, Misun walked towards her front door with the same tear-stained cheeks from a month ago.

Swinging her front door open did she finally burst into tears as soon as she came face-to-face with the boy she loved. Jumping into his arms, Heeseung tightly embraced Misun as he soothed the sobbing girl.

"Hey petal, do you trust me now?"
