Ace paced around his house nervously as he wondered if he should go see you or just stay home until you came back. You had specifically said that you'd 'see him around', which led him to understand that you wouldn't be coming for him and that he shouldn't go looking for you, but there was this thought itching inside of him that made him want to go. He felt as if he needed to go check on you and your well being.
That perfect looking angel had taken you away from him so abruptly that it took him a while to understand what the hell had just happened in front of him. You looked intimidated, even sad that you had to leave. He needed to know what had happened to you and he needed to be sure that nothing of this had been the fault of whatever feelings were brewing up between you two.
Deep inside, though, he knew. He knew he had gotten you in trouble. He knew that you were going to feel glum because of his insistence.
Ace shook his head. That wasn't the problem. He was allowed to feel whatever he felt for you as much as you were allowed to feel whatever you felt for him. You weren't the problem.
Then, an uncomfortable feeling set itself right in his gut. He wasn't exactly the most intuitive person, but he definitely could tell when something was wrong. And something was wrong.
"Fuck it." He grumbled, quickly and decisively walking out of his house.
He needed to know what happened to you, the man getting too absorbed inside his own thoughts to go as far as notice what was going on around him. In his process of self-absorption, he didn't even notice his mother coming up from the direction he was going at.
"Ace!" Called the woman with a warm smile.
She had seen you flying back with the angel Michael in a hurry and, knowing that you were supposed to be with her son, got worried.
"Huh?" Ace mumbled confusedly.
"Ace." Repeated Rouge once she was closer. "How are you?"
Ace stared at her skeptically. His focus was elsewhere and he hadn't really ever been in the presence of his mother without Roger clinging to their side.
"I saw (Y/N) fly by. Wasn't she with you?" She asked with absolute no discretion.
Ace blushed. He didn't want to have to explain what had happened to his mother. It was embarrassing. Very.
"She had to leave." Grumbled Ace embarrassedly.
"Why? Is everything alright?" She asked worriedly.
Ace paused, looking at the woman with slight frustration. He was nervous over what could happen and upset over what had happened, so the words just slipped out of his mouth.
"Look, you may be my mother, but you're not my mom." He stated angrily, a small fire lighting up in his eyes.
Rouge felt her heart shrink. She was putting too much pressure into her relationship with her son, but she just wanted everything to be alright already.
"I barely know you and I need you to stop meddling so much into my life." He grunted, trying to move away from the woman he still couldn't truly admit as his mother.
"Ace!" She called after him. "I know how you feel about her." She said softly as she ignored the pain in her heart. "I just wanted to tell you that I'm here for you if you need anything."
"I don't need your-" Ace replied in frustration.
"And I know how you can go see her without being seen by the other angels." Rouge interrupted.
Ace froze in his tracks. Why couldn't he be seen by the other angels? He simply couldn't wrap his head around why it was so terrible for him to potentially fall in love with you.
