EPISODE SEVEN
Eric Forman's basement
3:53pm

Peter Frampton blasts in the background, the song having been played for the third time in a row. I sit on the couch with my legs sprawled out across Hyde's lap, my feet sitting on Donna's lap, and cherry red sucker between my fingertips. The air is hot and sticky, even with my mid waisted shorts and cami I cant help but feel the humidity stick to my skin.

Kelso is seated on the side of the couch opposite to me as Eric and Fez are positioned on the floor. I hum as the song that was lingering in the air eventually comes to a stop, a sigh of relief flowing from my lips.

"Ooh, ooh! I just wanna hear the guitar solo one more time," Jackie squeals, running over to the speaker. I press my lips together in irritation, groaning along with everyone else in the room. Hyde places one hand up to his forehead, quickly becoming fed up.

"Not again. Use the headphones," He turns his body to face her. Jackie sticks her to tongue out before plugging the cord in and placing the speakers over her ears. Hyde narrows his sight, "Good, now wrap the cord around your neck."

I laugh quietly, bringing my hand up to gently nudge his curls. Hyde forcefully grabs my wrist before it could reach contact, playfully shoving it away from his hair.

Eric clears his throat as he continuously flips through today's newspaper, "God everything costs money; gas, clothes.. fun," I suck in a breath as Hyde's hand gently falls on my thigh as he listens to Forman speak. The weight of his palm is enough to bring my attention from the conversation.

"Dates. Dates cost money," Kelso adds, nodding his head eagerly. I attempt to listen in but get distracted as his cool fingertips begin to softly caress my skin. I consciously place my sucker in my mouth as some sort of action to keep my mind busy.

"No Kelso that is prostitution," Fez clarifies, Although I wanted to correct him, in some ways he isn't necessarily wrong. Donna's eyebrows push together, her feminist views conflicting with the idiocy of her best friends.

Hyde nods his head, fully agreeing, "Dating is prostitution, man, only you don't always get what you pay for," All three boys make noises of agreement. I raise my fist up, immediately
punching him in the arm. Hyde isn't fazed as he ruffles up my blonde strands in return, I pout as he messes up my freshly done hair.

Taking the sucker from my mouth, I retort, "Said the man who's never had a girlfriend," His lips part in disbelief. He looks around the room as if searching for his real friends.

"What? You guys don't remember Esther, the biker chick?" Multiple memories come rushing back from the mention of her name. Esther. I almost hated her more than Laurie.

"Oh yeah, what ever happened to her?" Donna asks as she takes her red strands and ball them into a high pony tail.

Hyde shrugs his shoulders in response, "She's dating my uncle," he concludes as we all grimace at the simple thought of anyone dating his creepy uncle.
