Another Spongebob inspired one-shot. This time where Drax decides to write a poem and chaos ensues.

A little bit of language.

Enjoy.

"What's going on?" you ask, hear a certain amount of straining coming from Drax's quarters on the ship.

"Drax, is everything alright okay in there?" you knock on the door. Drax, meanwhile, was too distracted in trying to think of words for a poem he was trying to write. But he couldn't as he had a major case of writer's block.
The guy currently had his eyes shut tight, trying hard to think.

"What won't this cursed brain of mine work?" Drax asks in annoyance, "Come on you idiotic brain, I demand that you work!"

"It's working!" you hear Drax say from the other side and the straining continues. It was then you realized what was going on. "Drax, don't strain yourself like last time!" you exclaim.
"Uh, what is that horrible smell?" you hear Rocket's voice, who currently had his nose plugged. "What do you think?" you nod at the closed door. "Oh, don't tell me," Rocket groans, "Drax is thinking again." "Yep," you nod. "Look, as much as I support the man when he thinks, which isn't often enough," Rocket says, "but it would be easier if it didn't always smell like something crawled in his brain and died."

Right on cue, Drax's door opens, "I'll have you know, that smell seeping out my brain is the creative process at work," he retorts. "Creative process?" you frown a bit, "What exactly are you working on, Drax?"
"This," Drax says like it's obvious, holding out a piece of parchment with words written on it, "Behold. My masterpiece."

"Uh, Drax, that's just a piece of paper," Rocket deadpans. "I think he's referring to what's on the piece of paper, Rocket," you say. "I'm aware, I can read," Rocket says monotone. "You are correct," Drax confirms, "I have composed a poem filled with words and sentences." "Okay, that's great and all, Drax," you say, "but uh, why, if I may ask?" "I answered an ad," Drax explains showing you and Rocket said ad.

"Want to make your poem into a song?" you read out loud, "then look no further. Just sent us your words of art with a 100 unit fee and your song will become a hit." "Since when did you become a poet?" Rocket frowns, "Actually since when did you get into a creative writing?" "I am into a lot of things," Drax answers like it's obvious, "You just never ask." "He does have a point," you agree. "That being said," Drax continues, "Despite my harden exterior, deep down, beats the heart of a poet. Metaphorically not literally, as (y/n) has been teaching me. Anyway,I also figured this kind of publicity from a popular song written by the Guardians of the Galaxy will bring us more business."

Both you and Rocket were actually stunned by Drax's logic. "Now if you'll excuse me, I must send in my masterpiece," Drax closes the door to his room.
"What do you think?" you ask Rocket. "I think I'm gonna feel bad for the poor bastards who have to actually record this song," Rocket answers, "It wouldn't surprise me if it ends up killing em."

------time skip---------

"I have done it!" Drax announces as he walks onto the ship. "Uh, done what exactly, Drax?" Peter asks, "You might want to add a little context, that would be helpful." "The poem I sent weeks ago has been transformed into a song," Drax explains. "Wait, you wrote a song? Since when?" Peter frowns. "Weeks ago, what was not clear about that?" Drax says like it's obvious, "Anyway they had this sent to me directly from some funeral. Apparently some musicians died shortly after recording after this. Must've been an unfortunate accident." "Called it," Rocket whispers to you.

"I am Groot?" Groot asks. "Yeah, that's a great idea, Groot," Gamora agrees, "Let's listen to it, Drax, see how it turned out?" "Are you sure?" Drax asks, "A work of art like this comes once in a lifetime. A lesser talent would not have been able to pull this off." "Hey, we're all here for nothing but support, Drax," you assure.
